2025 - Our Rides in Words, Photos, Maps and Videos

Amazing, more unbelievable. Could you share the repair history of your bike? Has the motor ever been replaced? Is there ever a plan B on your long rides? Plan A being make it home. Like, do you ever camp on the side of the road because you couldn't make it home due to weather or some other reason?
I had to have 2 new bearings fitted to the motor at 14000 miles, the repairers said the rest of the motor was in perfect condition! I put it down to my winter riding and have been more careful since then, another 28000 miles and the motor still runs like a dream! Not long after I bought the bike the Giant App bricked my evo display which was replaced under warranty, the display packed in again this year so I had to pay for that! Other than that the only other electrical issue was the power switch which was very easy and cheap to replace! When the new switch arrived it had a rubber sleeve to push over the connector to protect it from the rain and I've had no issues since!
Rab, another fabulous ride and report. How many total batteries do you have? Does the original battery still function? Can you estimate how many miles and years that your longest-lived battery has lasted?
I have 3 batteries in total, the first one which came with the bike in 2018 is 7.5 years old and still going strong! I couldn't estimate how much mileage it has done as I have been alternating my batteries since I bought the other 2! When fully charged my original battery shows a range of 65 miles, my 2020 battery shows 75 miles and my 2022 battery shows 78 miles!

Massive testament to Giant!

Yamaha actually.

My Bosch battery (500wh) from 2019 stil gives a range of 180/210 km with the down tuned Active Line DU. Daily ride so that would also help and the times it was not on Eco was while we had really Stormy weather, so 98% eco. Total mileage... Dunno. Its on its second wheelset and U think third or 4th pair of tyres.

Well, that and my permanent tracheostomy. Instant downing if my neck goes under.

Interestingly, my wife plans all our trips, and she's very good at it. But since the tracheostomy, nearly all of them involve boat rides. Beginning to see a subtext here.
Try not to look too hard or long over the railing on those boats ...

A few pics from today's 20km ride:
