2025 Creo 2 New Taller Stem?

My wife rides a 2025 XS size Creo 2. She doesn’t like leaning forward quite so much when her hands are in the hoods near the brakes and shifters. I called my Specialized LBS this morning looking for a different stem that would sit her more upright. The LBS said that because of the Future Shock there wasnt any other choices.

Anyone have any ideas of a different stem that would fit?

They are wrong. The Future Shock will fit non Specialized stems, you just need the shim that comes with the bike when bought new. There some things to consider when replacing the stem, though. The stem mount, the part that actually clamps to the future shock, must be the same height as the future stem so that you can install the stem cap or, if you have the 3.3 FS, the adjustment knob.

Ebikelife72 is correct. standard stems can be used with the Creo 2 Future Shock with the spacer/shim which is in the accessory bag that was in the zipped case. and as EBikelife72 also pointed out the 'stack' (height of rear section) of the stem cannot exceed the stock height ( I measure 40mm on mine). A few stems have a tall stack dimension

Thanks for the advice guys.

I took a picture of the stem then went to the LBS and the manager immediately saw that I didn’t have a spacers under the stem. He showed me how to install them, which was easy. He said that I could even flip the stem over because it’s a -6. Flipping it would give my wife +6.

I think we’re good now. Thank you again.
