2019 Giant eBike RideOne Odometer lifetime distance counts

I have been lurking around here for the past month, and just purchased a new 2019 giant explore e+ 3 from Giant Toronto last week. I plan to use this bike for my commute from Scarborough to downtown Toronto (around 41km round trip)

I was wondering if you are able to find out what's the lifetime KM travel on the bike for 2019 models without the LCD display. I test rode a 2018 explore e+ 3, and the LCD has a section for odometer that shows the lifetime distance traveled.

However, I can't seem to find the odometer section on the RideOne app. It would be nice to know the lifetime distance travel for maintenance record keeping.

Hey, you're going to have to change your forum name soon... after all, you won't be a new e-biker for long!

I was going to suggest you try the app, but see you already did. The odometer must be there somewhere! Is there a trip meter? I don't use the app because I've got the RideControl EVO on my bike and other than starting it up one time, I haven't really bothered with it.

The other thing you could do, if you're in the Apple ecosystem is to start a workout on the Apple Watch or phone and then sync the data to Strava. That might give you a way to track your distances.

I can't believe the app doesn't show the odometer. Unless someone replies about this before I get home tonight, I'll check the app then. I needed my car today so didn't commute by bike and without the app connecting to the bike, it won't show anything (I just tried). Could there be an "About" section that shows it?

I think it just doesn't have it. Now that I think about it, you dont always connect with the app when you use the ebike, so how could the bike accurately keep track of the KMs travelled? Unless there's a computer inside the bike that keep track of the KM travelled and sync with the bike whenever the user designs to connect with the app.

That sort of makes sense so you may be right. But I wouldn't be surprised if the total mileage IS recorded on the bike somehow. Otherwise how would the Giant technicians be able to diagnose and maintain the motor. They'd have to know how much use the motor has had. But I'll take a look at my app tonight. And even that might not be conclusive, as since I have the EVO, the app might be just reading the info from that.

I hope someone else will chime in who has the ONE.

All the brains are in the motor and odo reading is stored there. The display is as it's name suggests, it just displays data from the motor brain. LBS can read odo using their diagnostic tool.

That's what I thought, but shouldn't the app also be able to show the odometer reading? Do you know if it does?

Just checked and app it only has ride control and tuning, no odo.

Yeah, I wonder what’s the impact for the used market... you can’t really tell how long the bike has been ridden...

You can only get the total odo reader from the service diagnostic - this seems totally mad to me - I would like to know the total miles ridden. Is there a way of feeding this back to Giant and their developers?
Mine is in for a first service and I was told they would give me a print out.
