2018 ST2

Hello all,

I am not new to e-bikes, but have very little knowledge of Stromer. I am in the market for a flat-bar commuter e-bike, and locally have found a 2018 ST2 with 400 miles on it for sale. My hesitancy with buying used e-bikes in general is the limited life of the batteries, and with the Stromer in particular, I cannot find much information about the reliability of the SYNO motor. The nearest dealer is 200 miles away from me, and others are 350+ miles so that's another thing to consider if I need service.

Hoping some more knowledgeable folks here might be able to guide me to information about reliability, replacement costs, etc, or just share their experience with this particular bike/motor.

The ST2 and especially its motor is the most robust Stromer ever build (used in Free Floating fleets).

There are different capacities, the "blue" battery is the best. The is not too much experience with the 3rd party battery refreshers. If you want to do so, insist for functional guarantee. If the display on the top tube is colored, all is fine, otherwise, mobile data connection not sure.

However, if you run in troubles and no authorized dealer around, you're almost lost.

I’ve been riding my 2017 ST2, with a blue battery, without any major issue or noticeable battery degradation since I’ve owned it.
I feel the ST2 is a solid, reliable bike that will give its owner many miles/KMs of riding joy!
