Just saw the unboxing of a 2016 Focus Aventura S8 with integrated battery, navigaton, and the new EVO mid-drive motor. Outstanding build and gorgeous to look at. Snapped some quick photos (excuse the poor quality)

Thanks for the pics 86 look forward to riding one when the demo tour arrives in Houston Mar. 11th . Really impressive German engineering.
I just hope the engines silent, I know the belt will be.

It says Kalkhoff' , looks like the new Intagrale 8 or maybe the S11 ? Very nice looking bike, I was thinking S11 but not available til too late for me

Not sure what is going on with names. Last I heard from Iris Huber, the GM of Focus USA, Focus was to be the bike brand here. Perhaps that has been rethought.

Personally, I am waiting for the S11 (same look as the S8) which is a speed pedelec, has an Alfine 11 hub, and Magura MT5 brakes. Supposedly Q1 2016 for delivery to US.

This is the demo, pre-production S11 at New Wheel in San Francisco. I rode it, ordered one and have been told delivery will be before the end of the year.

What did you think of the power delivery? How much improvement in real world performance over the Impulse 2.0. My dealer told me Q1 2016 but would love to see it sooner.

I'm an e-bike newbie and have mostly, other than some test rides, ridden the Felt VerzaE my wife bought recently. So that said, I can't compare the EVO to the Impulse 2.0. In terms of responsiveness in hilly SF, the Bosch on the Felt is better. Based on components and build quality, I decided on the S11.

I also found the Bosch far more responsive on the hills, more "bike like" too. I was expecting to love the Kalkhoff but ended up convinced I should go with a Bosch.
