Battery Range Experience for Specialized E-Bikes

I just finished a 79 mile ride on my Creo SL carbon. It was all on paved roads. Fairly flat 3300 ft elevation gain with moderate winds. It was a charity ride to support MS research. I used the main battery plus one rage extender. According to BLevo, I used 217 Whrs main battery, 100 Whrs range...

If you were me, which Turbo Vado SL would you buy? Redux....

...and you can turn off the lights while charging by simply powering down the bike. It will continue to charge the batteries.

If you were me, which Turbo Vado SL would you buy?

As for the size, a L will probably work. I am 6'3" with 36" inseam and the Vado SL 5 EQ in Large works for me. Regardless always best to try them both to find the best fit for you.

Specialized Turbo Vado SL: An Incredible E-Bike (User Club)

For those with a Vado SL EQ with a rear fender light-Occasionally check to make sure the red lens cover is securely fastened. After a bumpy ride, my rear fender light looked like this. The light was still functional though. I checked with the LBS and they said the only solution was to replace...

    Creo SL vs Vado SL

Frankly I never considered that but I think there are structural limitations for racks with carbon frames. You would probably need to pack lightly.

    Creo SL vs Vado SL

I am fortunate to have a Vado 5eq SL and a Creo CC EVO. I think the range on both bikes is about the same. That’s because with a range extender, the bike has a greater range than my body 😉. Usually I get there a bit faster on the Creo because it’s lighter and just likes to go. To me, the Vado is...

    Creo Questions...

I have a copy of Appendix A from 2019. Not sure if it has changed since then. Back then the structural weight limit of the Comp Carbon version of the Creo was 240 lbs. The E5 structural weight limit was 275 lbs. Structural weight limit includes both rider weight and cargo weight. Cargo weight...

New Firmware for multiple bikes. Only updatable via the bike shop

I took my Vado SL and Creo to the LBS for tuneups a couple of weeks ago. While there, I had the tech update the software. They were both at least 2 versions behind. After the updates, I didn't notice anything different except switching from Sport to Eco seemed a little smoother...but that could...

New Firmware for multiple bikes. Only updatable via the bike shop

I plan on taking my Vado SL and Creo in for this software upgrade after the first of the year. Last time ('21 I think) I had a firmware upgrade, I was an early adopter and the LBS kind of struggled with it. Hopefully by January, they will have some experience with this upgrade. In the meantime...

Brake pads replaced at 2205 miles on 2022 Vado 5.0---question?

The need to replace your rear brake pads at 2200 miles seems normal to me. The uneven wear is not normal however. You asked for suggestions to resolve so if it was my ebike, I would have the tech at my LBS install new pads then check and align the brakes. Also check the rotors for wear or warp...

    Creo Through Axles

That's why they call them Specialized ;) I think exact replacements are available from Robert Axle Project however.

    Creo Through Axles

I have a Creo and a Vado SL. Dimensionally the thru axles are the same. Sometimes I swap them. For example, this spring I took a trip with some buddies and we hauled our bikes in a U-Haul trailer. We secured the bikes in the trailer using fork mounts. The axle with a lever made it easier to...

Just ordered my first ebike: Turbo Creo SL Comp Carbon EVO

Congrats! You will like it. I don't think it comes with the remote power assist buttons. They are an important but not very expensive accessory. There's a thread on the topic which will give you the part number and ideas on where to mount them on your handlebars...

Finally, over the air update for Turbos (including CREO), but with a caveat

Last year's firmware update of my Gen 1 Vado SL and Creo was a bit painful. It took a few tries by the techs at my LBS to get it done. This year, I'm waiting a bit before I take my e-rides into the shop for a firmware update. All you early adopters, be sure to post your experiences here ;)

    Creo SL 1x Chainguide?

See my post 15 of this thread. Knock on wood, I have never dropped a chain. Hopefully I won’t because I’m sure it will be a PITA to get it back on because there’s not much room to reinstall.
