Known Issues & Problems with Lectric eBikes Products + Help, Solutions & Fixes

Well said and good info Kimbo! There was a comment made that I don't know how to keep the battery from falling out. Indeed, I understand the key allows you to keep the battery locked in place until the bike is folded or unfolded. While that is true but the key also interferes with the wires in...

Known Issues & Problems with Lectric eBikes Products + Help, Solutions & Fixes

A few things on the Lectric 2.0. I'm a former bike shop owner of 19 years. First the bad news. These bikes are crude and heavy. If you think you are getting a $2000 for under $1000, you aren't. Pedals threads on mine were filled with a thread locking goo and the pedals were very hard to remove...

Any ideas on a Water Bottle Cage for Lectric 2.0?

I have 2 Lectric 2.0 bikes. The white one with the lower step through frame height has a water bottle cage mount that will accept a normal bottle cage. The black high frame one has the cage braze-ons mounted in an area of the back of the seat tube that defies any normal bottle cage to fit. The...

Giant Pro E Trying to reset from Kilometers to Miles

My Giant Pro E went into the shop and while there had a software update. Since then I have been unable to reset it from Kilometers to Miles. In the cell phone Ride app I have set it to miles and all the readings in there are miles but this is not pushed out to the bike. Any ideas?

Gear symbol showing on ROAD E+ PRO dash

My Giant Road E+ Pro had the little gear symbol appear and it would not disappear without intervention by the dealer. Here is their test printout. Dealers have to purchase a special cable to perform these tests and upload the results to Giant.

Gear symbol showing on ROAD E+ PRO dash

The gear symbol has shown up on the dash on my ROAD E+ PRO. Is there a way for me to service this myself or will I need a visit to my bike shop anytime this comes on.

Known Issues & Problems with Giant Products + Help, Solutions & Fixes

I had an unusual incident today with my 2019 Giant Road-E+ Pro. While I was riding, I attempted to change the tuning setting % of assistance on Eco level using the RideControl app. The app acted like it had accepted the change but the bike dash locked up and would not turn off or allow any...

Giant Road E+ review and questions

My total problems with my Road E is one broken spoke. I'm 230 pounds. The dealer told me that if one more spoke breaks they will re-lace the wheel and bill Giant for that. Other than that no problems.

Giant Road E+ review and questions

I switched to the Ultegra 12-25. The shifting with the long arm derailleur was very poor. I switched to the short arm version of the Ultegra der. and it was all good.

Giant Road E+ review and questions

Still working on getting my 2019 Road E set up to work for my riding. The 11-32 cassette gearing is really hard to get used to. The 32 is useful for pulling tractors and trailers out of ditches. The jumps between gears are just too big. Yes the assist helps but I think that in the same way...

    RideControl iPhone App

Thanks Giantbadge. You are right and I already had the new app but had not discovered the imperial setting. Thanks for the heads up!

New to Forum and E-Bikes but not new to cycling

I'll give you the update on my 2019 Giant Road E+1 Pro. So far the bike has been fantastic. I'm able to go on group rides and have done more riding with it that I have in years. I'm using Eco set to 75% most of the time. This has reduced stress on my knees and ankles with have suffered in recent...

    Explore E+ 2018 vs 2019

Rocky - At least in the United States Giant and many other manufacturers have stopped printing weights in the brochures. About the only way to find out a weight is to find an independent bike review where they quote the weight of the bike they tested. The reasons are many but back in eternity...

Light power port for Giant e-bikes

So Will - Are you suggesting I head down to the nearest Yamaha electric bike dealer and see what will match up for the Giant wiring harness?

    RideControl iPhone App

Shagy - My understanding is that the app functionality was only enabled for 2019 models. I'm not sure if that means that there is no capability on 2018 and earlier models or if they will make some firmware or software update available to allow those earlier model years to connect. The connection...

    RideControl iPhone App

I have been playing with the power settings in the RideControl App. I have changed the lower 4 settings to give me more granularity of settings at the low end. Theoretically, the 75% on the lowest setting should give me longer overall distance capability as long as it is a relatively flat ride.

    Single bolt seat post concerns

Niteman - I'm at same weight range as you. I took the Giant one apart, as I'm sure you have, and those cone shaped surfaces look like it would hold until you hit a big bump and then leave you sitting on the top tube or the back tire! The Cane Creek post is rated for 330 pounds. The precision of...

    Single bolt seat post concerns

I gave up on the Giant OEM single bolt system seat post clamp and carbon seatpost. Getting the seat tilt adjustment correct was pretty impossible. Went to a Cane Creek solution with an elastomer.

    RideControl iPhone App

I got the RideControl app working on my 2019 Giant. It is pretty nice but does not allow a switch to miles on some of the readings. Also, there is still no way to change the tire size on the computer.
