Walk Assist Mode as Pseudo-Cruise Control on Bafang Ultra

Hi everyone, Using the Bafang Ultra M510 / G620 Mid Drive Motor on my fat tire ebike, I've stumbled across a pseudo cruise control mode. When in PAS0 (no assistance from the motor), if you hold down the 'negative/down' button on the handlebar controls, if you're in a small cog (11 tooth, high...

Ebike Specific Chains for Mid-Drive Motors?

Hi friends, I'm wondering if anyone uses an ebike-specific chain for their mid-drive ebikes? I just noticed that KMC sells apparently an ebike specific chain, called the 'KMC e9 Sport 9-Speed E-Bike Chain'. Any thoughts on this, or should I continue to use a standard bicycle KMC chain, which...

Bafang G510 Ultra Max Mid Motor Overheating

Bumping thread now that most of the United States is in mid-summer.... ...while I personally haven't (yet) experienced overheating on the Bafang Ultra (M510 / G620 Mid Drive Motor system), I did read some threads on this site about the DPC-18 Bafang color display possibly throwing an error if...

Keeping Integrated Headlight On & DPC-18 Display Screen at Full Brightness Simultaneously - Bafang Ultra M510 / G620 Mid Drive Motor System

Hi everyone, For those folks whom like to ride during the daytime with their integrated headlight on, while also wanting to keep their DPC-18 screen of their Bafang Ultra (M510 / G620 Mid Drive Motor system) display at maximum brightness simultaneously, there is a neat trick I've uncovered by...

When transporting ebike on platform-type car rack, do you remove the battery?

Hi everyone, I am wondering if ebike enthusiasts generally remove the battery from their bikes when transporting them on platform-type car racks, such as the Kuat NV 2.0, etc.? Let's assume we're not taking the ebike cross-country, but just 5 miles to a local trail. Thanks in advance for any...

Bafang Ultra Mid-Drive Fat Tire Ebike Review - Etek Hunter

That's a good point, @ElevenAD. I've long wondered if there is a practical difference between the 48v and 52v systems (the 52v systems sure do sound attractive, on paper at least!), but I imagine someone with some expertise would be able to ascertain if there is a real-world difference between...

    Integrated Taillight for MD750 / MD1000 Bikonit Warthog & Replicas - Bafang Ultra M510 / G620 Mid Drive

Based on some research, I would concur, but it would also involve pulling down the motor and dissembling it to plug in the taillight cable... based on schematic diagrams folks have shared on this forum...

Dual Battery Fat Tire Ebike with Bafang Ultra- Your Thoughts?

If you could elaborate on your concerns surrounding why you feel a dual battery configuration (OEM setup, from the manufacturer, rather than DYI), please do share your thoughts. The bike type in question is the Bikonit Warthog (MD750 / HD750 / MD1000), Juggernaut Ultra Beast 2, Etek Hunter...

Bafang Ultra Mid-Drive Fat Tire Ebike Review - Etek Hunter

All great insights! The Rize RX is an attractive bike for sure, albeit currently sold out. Per their website, if spec'd with the second battery and 4 inch fat tires, it would be just shy of $4,000 USD plus any applicable sales tax and shipping. (I do like that the Rize RX has an integrated...

Mid-Drive Motor & Mechanical 9 Speed Drivetrain - What Gear to Engage, & When?

Hi friends, Please go easy on me, I just transitioned from a 500W hub motor to a 1,500W mid-drive Bafang Ultra (G510.1000 / M620), on a 85 pound a fat tire cruiser/hunting style ebike. (For those curious, the bike I'm referring to goes by several names, including Bikonit Warthog (MD750 /...

Bafang G510 Ultra Max Mid Motor Overheating

Very interesting thoughts shared here. I've been riding by Bafang Ultra in 95 degree heat under the baking sun for a bit, and the motor gets extremely hot to the touch... Hopefully it won't start overheating or throwing error messages!

Bafang Ultra Mid-Drive Fat Tire Ebike Review - Etek Hunter

Hi Mitchb, totally appreciate your insights and the feedback, you made a lot great points. 100% on point that the stock Shimano Tourney 7 speed drivetrain is ridiculously under-provisioned for the Bafang Ultra, but $250 at a Local Bike Shop fixes that with an upgrade to the SRAM X5 9-Speed :)

    Bikonit MD & HD accessories

Hello, curious if the Battery Retention Straps are necessary... how common is it for the batteries to randomly fall off the frame while riding? Just curious, as it seems like that would be a significant design flaw? Thanks for any insights.

Adding Integrated Tail / Rear Light to Bafang Ultra M510 / G620 Mid Drive Motor System?

Thanks again for the thoughtful responses, folks. After analyzing the responses, technical schematics, and giving it a lot of thought, I've decided not to risk dropping/opening the motor to attempt adding the tail light hard wire cable, as the risk appears too high for someone whom is not a...
