Cglow: Your profile and needs are similar to mine. I looked at bikes I could buy from a local dealer. Giant, Bulls, Magnum. Bought the Peak for the features and value for the $. No regrets.

Hi. I've had the Peak for a month now. Very pleased. Hill-climbing seems to be superb. Also have spoken to Magnum HQ couple of times. Very responsive.

Totally hear you. It’s an interesting discussion for sure. I’m an athletic guy, and just bought my first ebike… with a throttle. Was it the deciding factor? Nope. And I have no intention of using it to “cruise around” on. In fact, I plan to ride with the power OFF as much as possible...

I just bought a Magnum bike a week or so ago off a local bike shop. No discount for me. (though i didnt press as hard as i probably could have..)

Chris, Yep, appreciate that. You and I are on the same timeline. So where are you located? Unfortunately I have a foot of snow outside my door. So not doing anything for a little while here.

They have several modes: solid light, intermittent flash (every other second), and strobe (like a millisecond... "strobe" effect). Its superb!!
