So you guys (and gals) might be right.

So, I’m 6’1” and my wife and I have the same city upright e-bike. Mine is size large, hers is size small. Due to some rearranging at home it’s easier for me to take her bike. I’ve been using it for 3-4 weeks now. The kicker is, it actually fits me better. Reach is much more comfortable. The...

8+ months of research, 100s of hours, know what I need & want but can't find it

It’s well past time you were banned. Almost every day you contribute pure negativity.

8+ months of research, 100s of hours, know what I need & want but can't find it

I found out that I have short arms, so reach was an issue. Inseam and height didn’t explain it. Had to start looking at geometry and stem sizes to find the right size bikes. Good luck on the journey, but I really can’t see doing 70 miles a day with regularity on an e-bike. That’s so many hours...

8+ months of research, 100s of hours, know what I need & want but can't find it

It might be best to add a ramp to the shed so the bike can be rolled on in. e-bikes are heavy and awkward to lift in general. Not something you'd want to do in your situation even with a lighter 40-50 lb bike. Likewise at a bike lockup you can often maneuver the bike without lifting if you plan...

    Specialized Vado 4 or Ride1Up Prodigy V2

Ergonomically the Enviolo twist doesn't work for me. Leads to wrist pain unless I limit my shifting and modulate the assistance level. I did a solid couple weeks riding the Shimano 8 speed twist shifts on city bikes and had no problem. No problems since November riding traditional chain bikes.

    Creo 2 Noisy/Juddering SRAM brakes

He was talking to me - but I totally agree and am happy to hear you got that sorted out! Will be posing that rotor/pad question to my LBS when I bring my bike back (rear brake currently not working after hitting muddy trails).

    Creo 2 Noisy/Juddering SRAM brakes

The worst factory brakes were on my Gazelle Ultimate. Squeeeaaaaaaaaal all day long. Despite the LBS promising they would always be quiet, they tried to charge me $80 the second time I brought it back. REI fixed it for $30. My Diverge can get honking loud and it's probably time to change pads...

My New Globe Haul ST (2 weeks Old now)

Yeah, the USB port is almost useless. It could power a small action cam, or maybe some LED lights -- but forget trying to charge a phone with it. Honestly wouldn't want to ride faster than 28 on this bike. It's just not designed for that. I had the handlebars come loose randomly while riding...

Specialized Turbo Vado SL: An Incredible E-Bike (User Club)

-Pathfinder Pro 42 tubeless in clay. The bike seized up completely once enough got jammed in there, but the tires didn't slip much before that. -Ortlieb quick rack with mud scraping stick Might switch to Rene Herse Oracle 48, but then again the Pathfinders are a great all-rounder. They've even...

Ultimate 380+ Belt Tension, is this too much slack?

Anyone know if those set screws can be removed, or substituted with long screws? I find the shifting effort is dramatically reduced with the belt a little looser, and haven't noticed any downsides. A shop actually recommended setting these up like a single speed chain with some slack.

Tried a ride today on private land using just a throttle

The only reason I wanted to use a throttle was to start from a stop without downshifting. I couldn’t see wanting one with a rohloff or automatiq that can downshift automatically at a stop. Alternatively maxing out assistance can help with the initial push off. Just my 2 cents.

    specialized creo 2

I think they whiffed a little here on the remote buttons. The e-tap shifters are perfect. They should be similarly compact.

Turbo Creo 2 Comp E5 (aluminum) is out, is a Vado SL 2 next?

It’s weird because reach is my only issue. I guess I have slightly short arms for my height (wingspan is about 2” less than height). My 56 diverge feels a little small, aside for the reach. I even shortened the stem to 80 cm from 90, and had a fit on it for 90 cm. Otherwise I just feel a little...

The Ortlieb Quick Rack is fantastic too. And it's just $100.

Turbo Creo 2 Comp E5 (aluminum) is out, is a Vado SL 2 next?

I’m 6’1” and the large flat bar Skitch was a big bike. Reach was too long for me.

    Are You An All-Year-Round Cyclist?

Nice photo! Yes, absolutely year-round, but my favorite time is the summer. We live in Texas. I love biking in the heat so much more than the cold. e-bikes really changed the game for our bicycling consistency, and allowed us to replace so many car trips. I still try to haul a bit on my...

SUV tires for Gazelle Ultimate C8+

Maximum load on the JW seems higher. Just curious how this is determined. I never would have considered it!

SUV tires for Gazelle Ultimate C8+

Saw that someone online went with a smaller wheel size to make a wider tire fit their Ultimate. The wheels being better also made a difference to comfort. If I went that route, I'd want to see if tubeless might be possible. To me, 60 looks like it might doable. I compared a 55 tire that I had...

    New to the e-bike

Yeah lots of rain here too. Should have avoided the gravel trails today. Instead jammed up my bike with clay far from home and had to carry it out a good 1/2 mile. 😄
