Dog/child pull behind carrier recommendations...frame mounted

This trailer would be strong enough to hold 2 dogs. It has a weight limit of 180 lbs but does require attaching to the rear axle of the bike.

    Upgrading 2016 Battery

Today I was just bored so I cut the cables from the battery cradle and controller connector and replaces them with Anderson connectors. old connectors (I was pretty sure the cables internally were just red/black leads and I was right) tested new connection now running with a 52v 17ah...

    BBS02 on Bianchi road bike

Currently I have a 11.6 ah battery (550 watt) battery that I took from my Radwagon to use on this bike. With the battery being about 3 years old now, I'm only getting about 28 miles total in Eco mode. But on this Bianchi, I'm getting double that range because the bike is so light and I can use...

    e-bike kickstand

For anyone interested, I came across this double leg kickstand that seems to hold up well for heavier e-bikes. https://www.amazon.com/gp/product/B00D1T90XK/ref=ppx_yo_dt_b_asin_title_o03_s00?ie=UTF8&psc=1 My previous single leg kickstand made stuffing the panniers difficult. If you stuff the...

Chainline Issue on mid drive Specialized Hardrock

Depends on what mid drive motor you purchased. If you have a BBS02 or HD, then you can purchase chainrings with different offsets.

    Radcity 750w Motor and comparison

The RadCity uses a direct drive hub similar to my Radwagon. I think the Rovers use a geared hub similar to the E-glide making hills a little easier to climb. With direct drive hubs, hills can be a pain without additional assist. The throttle really helps temporarily for that. I don't like...

    Advice for converting tandem

I have 2 of these kits and both have been very reliable over the years. The kit comes with a 36v (350 watt motor) geared front hub and a 13ah Samsung battery (468 watts). Total cost is $629 w/battery...

    Long term reliability?

I use my Radwagon as a daily commuter and have put around 6900 miles on it. The odometer rolls over around 6200+ miles. The bike has been rock solid in terms of electronics and I've ridden through steams that rise very close to my bottom bracket. I also ride in heavy rains, snow, ice, and...

    Radwagon with Jones type bars

Most of the time I enjoy riding my hardtail or full suspension bikes both with 760 mm bars. Switching over to the Radwagon, the narrow bars and raised stem feels unstable when leaning into turns or standing to pedal. I decided to replace the stem and put on wider bars. With the front air...

    Maryland passes 3-Class ebike law

I still see ebikes on Capital Crescent but mostly older folks riding under 10 mph. I see ebike shares parked on the side of the CCT. If there is a ban, its certainly not being enforced. The National Park Service for Virginia already changes it ruling to allow ebikes on all their trails as of...

High Speed Long Distance Commuter Build

I used to have a dual motor setup on my cargo bike (front geared hub, rear direct drive). Both had similar top speed limits so in the end, I didn't go any faster. Acceleration definitely improved. It went from "casual increase" (rear only) to "hold on to the bars" pick up speeds. Climbing...

High Speed Long Distance Commuter Build

You can wait for the Luna Apollo bikes to get back in stock. It uses magnesium version of the Bafang Ultra motor that peaks at 2000 watts. https://lunacycle.com/luna-cycle-apollo/ I remember hearing that it has a 40 mph top speed and a 40 mile range (21 ah battery) If you want the internal...

Fixing a flat tire on the road is impossible. Should I change my wheels and tire?

All you need are 2 Pedro plastic tire levers and a KoolStop Tire Bead Jack. I've been able to take off and install even the most stubborn tires (continentals beaded and Schwalbe beaded are terrible) ranging from 700x19mm to 700x50mm. Just make sure you pull in the bead inch by inch otherwise...

Not much out there for short people who want FS

I would check air pressure on your front forks for the AllMtn. 160mm of travel is a lot and can jack up the height of the front. My brother competes in mountain bike races (beats kids half his age on a single speed mtb) and told me to start by setting the front forks to 1/2 my weight at the...

Not much out there for short people who want FS

I purchased a extra small FS for my wife (Marin Hawk Hill - sorry its not an ebike) a which was a bit too big for her (she is 4'10). After getting a small dropper post, she can now stand over the bike with the post lowered (I got her a 350 mm post with 80 mm of travel from PNW). When she...

    Ribble now sells eBikes

24 lbs is pretty light for an electric road bike. You could ride without the assist and leave it for when you really need it on the climbs.

    Extra Battery

I have a Topeak MTX EX trunk bag and was able to squeeze (2) 17.4 ah batteries into it. The weight of the two batteries made it very unstable when making turns. That's why I recommend only having 1 battery in the rear bag and leave the other in the middle of the frame.

    Extra Battery

The alternative would be to upgrade your rack to a Super Tourist rack, put the extra battery in the bag. Your battery will have no problems fitting into your existing DX bag. Then move your current items into panniers...

    BBS02 on Bianchi road bike

I purchased this Bianchi new as a teen over 30 years ago. I used it to bike from my dorms to classes back in the 80s. Since then, its been updated as parts have broken and just needed to be updated. The 12-23 freewheel was too difficult to ride on hills. The old Mavic rear wheels got damaged...
