2022 turbo Vado 5 IGH battery does not secure …. Loose when pushing it in at the top.

Has anyone adjusted the 3 small screws located the underside, top area, of the Vado 5 battery compartment? The screws are clearly there for a reason and I seems logical they have something to do with the position of that inside ‘ridge’ where the top of the battery fits over. If that ‘ridge’ part...

2022 turbo Vado 5 IGH battery does not secure …. Loose when pushing it in at the top.

Thanks…I will take a closer look. Yes, the terminals are located on the bottom as well with my Vado 5.

2022 turbo Vado 5 IGH battery does not secure …. Loose when pushing it in at the top.

I am surprised you put the bottom in place before the top. Thought you have to secure the top over that inside bolt or ridge, then swing the bottom part in, followed by turning the key to lock. Thanks. I plan to check later today.

Vado 5 IGH battery fit issue

Hi, Been spending considerable time contacting both US and Canadian head offices of Specialized, as well as local and other Specialized bike shops. Had response on this forum too. Issue concerns the approximate 1/4 inch ‘play’ or movement when top of battery is pushed in towards rather...

2022 Vado 5 IGH Battery fit loose at top

Thanks for that info. I plan to check at bike shops in other cities that carry Specialized. When new, I do not recall any movement either. Have you removed and reinstalled your battery yet? Thanks again.

2022 Vado 5 IGH Battery fit loose at top

Hi, Posted recently that the top of the Vado 5 battery has about 1/2 inch play at the top when installed. One can easily push the top approx 6 inches of the battery in towards the frame. There is about half an inch of movement when one pushes that installed battery in, towards the frame. The...

2022 turbo Vado 5 IGH battery does not secure …. Loose when pushing it in at the top.

Thanks, really appreciate your suggestions. I am aware of that key situation. Very odd, as the first couple of times, I did not detect any battery movement when installed. I will try again tomorrow, keeping Your suggestions in mind. I certainly have tried different angles when inserting...

2022 turbo Vado 5 IGH battery does not secure …. Loose when pushing it in at the top.

Hi, Turbo Vado 5 IGH battery does not seat firmly. Moves in about 3/8 of an inch when pushing top of battery towards frame. Should and needs to fit without movement. Any help would be appreciated. Bike has never been used much, less than 200 miles, and has never been dropped, etc. First few...

    Zen Samurai

Hi, THANK YOU!! I MOST APPRECIATE YOUR POSITIVE WORDS! I am 67, one functioning lung (NEVER smoked anything my whole life) and lower back issues, etc. Age is a 4 letter word! Lol. I relate 100% to your comments! I am very much drawn to that belt drive…a game changer it would be for me! No...

    Zen Samurai

Thank you! Totally agree…2 amazing folks! I visited a local bike shop that sell Bosch powered bikes. I was told bluntly by the arrogant owner that his shop would not touch a Zen Samurai. He went on to add that the Bosch speed motor (28 max mph) is not legal here (Canada). So, as much as I would...

    Zen Samurai

Curious about the Zen Samurai, esp the premium model. Has anyone bought one or have opinions about that ebike? Assembled in Halifax and has a Bosch Gen 4 speed motor and a belt drive. Thanks!

    Ebike rack

Thanks. Without a doubt, buying from a Canadian or American company appeals to me. Certainly, not a fan of anything from China! Here is other info I acquired re that Zen Samurai Premium model (maybe you have already seen): 500 + 500 Wh power tubes (dual battery, standard) Bosch Kiox display...

    Ebike rack

Thanks but I would prefer the black, not red colour. Step through would likely be my best choice given my age. I likely will need to order a Zen Samurai Premium model, despite its being about 900.00 more. That Zen appears to have superior components, including a Bosch Generation 4 Speed motor...

    Ebike rack

Thanks for your info…most appreciated! That Vado 5 is $8000.00 Canadian and that Zen Samurai Premium model is $8900.00 Canadian. Unfortunately, that Zen is on-line only. I have emailed Ravi (one of the company owners I have read) about that serious issue. That is, without test riding that Zen...

    Ebike rack

Thanks for your insights! I was considering the Vado 5, which has a 90 nm motor. But, rather expensive at $8000. Canadian. Hill climbing ability is critical for me. Ebikes here are limited to 32 kph or 20 mph. However, that Zen ebike (assembled in Halifax) has a Bosch speed motor, generation 4...

    Ebike rack

Thanks. Very frustrating that too many ebikes are not readily available to test ride at bike shops. Tired of hearing the same ol’ story about shortage of components, etc. Spending $5000.00 plus for an ebike without test riding it does not sound logical. I certainly think it is a huge risk to...

    Disappointment with Allant 7

Has anyone any experience on ebikes with belt drives? Specialized Vado 5 looks impressive, but costly of course. Just heard about the Zen Samurai ebike that also looks good. Thanks!

    Disappointment with Allant 7

Hi, Thank you very much for clarifying! I heard the same from the Trek head office in Wisconsin. I feel more confident about the Allant 7 with the Bosch CX performance motor now! Perhaps the motor was not configured properly at the bike shop where I recently purchased and returned my Allant 7. I...

    Disappointment with Allant 7

No problem! I am seriously interested in acquiring a class 3 ebike due to its top speed of 28 mph. I would expect the class 3 to perform better on hill climbing as well. Many hills where I live; therefore, a more powerful ebike would seem a very good idea.
