If you have aggressive platform pedals then I'd recommend a shoe like that for sure. I use the Chrome Industries Kursk Shoes. I've got over 5000km on them and they are holding up really well!

It's definitely tighter with the winter insert. Go to a shop and try them both on... The M with the visor insert is perfect for me

Yup! There it is! I also got the winter liner too for the cold rides. It has covered ear holes and a liner which covers the top holes. Sweet lid!

Get a helmet buds! Your traveling at a greater rate of speed (up to 28mp/h) and a bare skull was simply not designed for a crack at that speed. Even regular bicycle helmets are probably not good enough, but better than nothing!
