On a Stromer ST1 Elite E-Bike from Vancouver (BC) to San Francisco within 12 days. A journey over 1,800 km (1,120 miles) with 15,200 m (50 ft) altitude difference.

Follow me and my Son Luc on that trip and watch what's possible on a pedal assisted Stromer e-bike without any escort vehicle.

To the blog...

Exciting, Jeurg! Are you packing extra batteries, or is the plan to limit use to climbs, etc?

Thanks! I'm exited about it.
Marc, we ride all the time in ECO mode and each of us has one extra with, all 14.5Ah batteries.

Looking forward to reading your blog. I've got the same configuration ST1 & 14.5AH, even the ABUS folding lock. What are you setting the pedal assist value at? What sort of range were you getting per charge? How heavy were your packs?

Totally awesome Juerg..!!
I'm following your blog and touring with an ebike has been on my mind.
I recently bought a Burley Travoy for urban transport and small distance touring.

Wishing you safe travels and flat-free fun exploration ... :)

Thanks! I'm exited about it.

Wish you both a safe and happy trip.. Very ambitious schedule.. about 100 miles per day over some pretty hilly coastline.

btw what is that thingamajig on your battery tube?

Those are Link Removed (Access Denied). Supposed to have the protection of a U-lock with a compact form factor.

Juerg - can't wait to read the updates. Here's to many tailwinds and and a safe journey!

Just in time we reached San Francisco. After 12 days with thousands of impressions and without any flat or other difficulties, what a great feeling to stand in font of The Golden Gate Bridge with our Stromer's.

I'm proud of my son Luc, he achieved something big with the age of 18.

Thanks for all your wishes and as James mention it's in our memories for lifetime.
