I can only imagine what the carbon footprint is for that thing and the diesel generator that supplies the juice. ;)

"Significant Motor Resistance While Pedalling With Motor Off" Myth Busted: Physical Proof

The point I was trying to make, apparently unsuccessfully, was the pedaling on 5 with the weak/drained battery was harder than with the battery turned off.

"Significant Motor Resistance While Pedalling With Motor Off" Myth Busted: Physical Proof

I had an interesting experience with my Ride1Up Series 500. I was riding up a steep hill on PAS 5. The battery ran out of juice and the display turned off. It got very hard to pedal. I was able to turn on the display on again, then lowered it to PAS 2. The pedaling got much easier. I can't...

    Which bike rack?

I have a Hyperax Volt 2. Love it. Holds up to 70# per bike. My son used it this winter to take his Trek e-bike to Gatlinburg, about a 1600 miles round trip. No problems at all. The rack folds up nicely and I can store it in my trunk. I agree with others who have said you need to take off the...

A fascinating discussion of EV battery fires

This is an excellent video produced by the American Chemical society. I would trust that they know what they're talking about. What makes EV fires so difficult to extinguish

Peter Flax article for Bicycling.com about the challenges presented by DTC ebikes

I have two bikes - One with hydraulics and the other with mechanical. Both lock up the wheels with similar amounts of force. Which brings up another point... Will we ever see ABS on bikes?

I disagree. Mechanical disk brakes are easier to maintain and adjust. They have their place.

Peter Flax article for Bicycling.com about the challenges presented by DTC ebikes

Manufacturers certainly need to be held accountable for poor design, manufacturing, etc. But we also live in a society where there is always someone to blame for something. Everyone is a victim it seems. Doesn't anyone want to "man up" and own their own stupidity (or their kid's)?

I, too, really like the bike and it offers a lot for the money. However, I hope they will soon release a more sophisticated controller/system that provides a more natural riding experience. Better yet if it can be retrofitted. I agree that it is necessary to set the PAS to 0 when stopped. As...

Is there a single gear, rear wheel, no hand brake, 500 w 48 V ebike conversion kit?

Not intending to argue with you, just trying to understand what you mean, and why you feel so strongly about front hubs. Thanks.
