Difference in Motor Controller Between the CCX and Rip Current S

I really hope so. Having to stay on PAS 1 is very undesirable at times. Thanks for the info.

New 2019 RipCurrent 52V ebike is out. Anyone has a review on it?

I own both the RCS and HyperFat 1100. I’m cutious if your new RCS has a PAS setting of 0? Mine doesn’t, so I always must use some pedal assist, or turn the battery off. I think they plan to correct that. Your HF will have a PAS if 0.

Difference in Motor Controller Between the CCX and Rip Current S

I am not positive, but I think the CCX allows throttle only up to 28 mph. If so, that is nice to have. Also, I think the CCX has a PAS of “0”. That also is very desirable. I hope Juiced has an upgrade to their RCS controller because I own one and am unhappy with the controller.

For those who are shopping for their first e-bike....

The RCS does not have a PAS of 0. That is a big problem. You must either ride in PAS 1, or turn the battery off if you want to ride with no assist. They fixed this on the HF and it does have a PAS of 0. That is a big deal to me. The RCS throttle only goes to 20 mph. You must use PAS S to hit...

For those who are shopping for their first e-bike....

I am 62. Although I have 2 juiced fat bikes and love them, I would look at the juiced crosscurrent. If you buy a rear rack, like the Swagman, you can load one wheel at a time. I do this with my fatties and it is very easy. The juiced bikes have the best battery. Also, it is easily removed, which...

Hyperfat 1100 and Ripcurrent S Tires and Tubeless Maxxis Minions

I have the RCS and HF. I must admit, the RCS is a much more comfortable bike to ride. The torque sensor blends so well with the PAS. It could be that the HF, because of the added 1100w has a lot More torque and is not as smooth. But it will get you up to speed and across the road much faster...

Hyperfat 1100 and Ripcurrent S Tires and Tubeless Maxxis Minions

Well, stay in touch. We know they mass produce these in China, so some issues are expected. If you want, we can compare some measurements on the frame. When I got my HF, my PAS wasn’t working correctly. Seemed to be cutting out / surging. It was the thickness of the washer on the torque sensor...

Hyperfat 1100 and Ripcurrent S Tires and Tubeless Maxxis Minions

I got the new Maxxis Minion 120Tpi EXO TP 26x4.8 mounted on the front of the 2018 Ripcurrent S. Sure like it. A video is posted below...

Hyperfat 1100 and Ripcurrent S Tires and Tubeless Maxxis Minions

That is really odd Joshua. I’ve had Tora himself contact me a few times about questions. Those guys are really great. They will get you fixed up. They advertise the HF1100 as a 40mph bike. I’m seeing more like 35-37 on full battery. You have to have good conditions to hit 40. Usually on the...

Hyperfat 1100 and Ripcurrent S Tires and Tubeless Maxxis Minions

I don’t think so. The way the Minions tread/casing is made, it appears there is a burnishing around the perimeter of the tire where the chain WOULD rub if in a lower gear. You said both tires are burnished and rubbing. The Minion is brand new and never been ridden or rubbed. I just took it out...

Hyperfat 1100 and Ripcurrent S Tires and Tubeless Maxxis Minions

Something sounds really wrong here. You should not be rubbing in any gear with the slicks. They are only 3.5” wide. You might post some pics or just holler at Juiced.

    Different chainring

I added the 11-32 DNP freewheel and no change to chainring and it added plenty of resistance in high gear. You will need a special split freewheel tool. Rad sent me one free. Call them. You will also need to slightly adjust the inner and outer rear derailleur limit screws.

Anyone Use a 26x4.9 on Radrover

My first bike last May was a new radrover. I put 4.8 Maxxis minions front and rear. It can handle those but nothing bigger. These measured 4.4” when mounted. Had about 1/8” chain clearance on the inner cog.

    Shopping for an ebike

Yes I will do that. I put a lot of miles on the Radrover, Ripcurrent S, and now HyperFat 1100. Each one of them is different and has its advantage. I must admit, the Radrover is a great bike for the money. I don’t think there is a better deal out there. But I’m an x USCF road racer and I love...

    CCX: zero mode and more

I like to run my bike fast on the shoulder of our busy highway to get away from all the texters and crazy drivers as quickly as possible. Then, when I get to the trails, I like to set my bike to PAS 0 to get a good workout. The Ripcurrent S has no PAS 0. So if you want to ride with no assist...

    Shopping for an ebike

In a headwind on a 750w rad, you might drop below 20 mph. I’m running 4.8” and 4.0” Maxxis minion tires on both my Ripcurrent s and HyperFat 1100 now tubeless. The big fat tires will give you more stability and comfort. You also need to think about flats. Either go tubeless, or use mr tuffys...

    Shopping for an ebike

High plains rider, it cost more but look hard at the HyperFat 1100. I’ve bought 3 ebikes in the past 6 months. Not proud of that. My first was radrover. I love that bike and it is very similar to the Ripcurrent s. Juiced cost more. But look hard at the battery difference, hydraulic brakes, and...
