If you enter the Start/End voltage properly in the programming. It should give you full smooth range on the rotation

So in this example...
Start: 0.9
End: 4.0

I'm gunna meter my throttle again, but from what I remember, the throttle would need to have mechanical stoppers at the two lines drawn on my throttle to eliminate the dead spots.
It can't be done by adjusting the start and end voltages.

It puts out the same voltage (something above 1.1V for a KT controller, or you'll get a throttle fault) and stays at that same voltage until the throttle is twisted to the first line.

Then after the pointer passes the second line, it put out the same voltage (something less than 4.2V) until the end of rotation.

That is for my hub-drive which uses that reverse voltage thing, but my first ebike is also a hub drive and uses a proprietary throttle, (which is just a mid-drive throttle) and IIRC, it behaved the same way with the dead spots.

Perhaps my left hand throttle Will put out 0.9V because it's for a Bafang mid-drive?

It says 65° rotation angle.

Does it actually have a 65° active "sweep angle" from the start of power to maximum power?


My throttle is only has an active "sweep angle" between the two lines with huge "dead spots" before and after the active area of the sweep.

Almost half the sweep angle is dead leaving me with a pretty twitchy throttle response.

2mm of "pointer" movement has about a 5 kph speed difference.

The throttle doesn't end up being very granular at all.
(I am used to it though.)

I would move it so it is in between the brake lever and shifter. That way you get use of the full grip. I recall them has having about 50 degrees of movement and being highly sensitive to the amount of push. But that could be a programing thing. The little moped bikes are mostly off/on. These are on very nice Velotric commuter bikes for adults that are smooth and easy to adjust to any speed in the bike's range. It kicks in with very little pressure and the bike will start at a walk assist speed.

That's exactly how I programmed my "throttle gears" (PAS modes) on my mid-drive.

I'm starting with 1 amp in throttle gear #1, so like fiddy watts.

Now I need to extrapolate reverse exponentially to 18 amps at throttle gear #9

I'm stopping at 18 amps even though I have a 30 amp BMS's and a 750 Watt mid-drive motor.

I'm still all about range and I don't want to "strain" anything on my ebike, or shorten my rides to probably less than ½ hour?

Two motors getting 18 amps each is Plenty of power, and I I'll only be able to do that (without going faster than 20 mph) if I've got a 30 mph headwind.

I'm thinking that won't be a no-hands day of riding

It was initially going to be Creo but at the last second I changed it to 'V_do. Now lots of EBRer's refer to reafer by that 'V' word. I smoke (past) two V_dos in the morning...

It only goes 22 kph, then the motor kicks out.
If it gets to 25 kph, regeneration kicks in automatically.

I have a handmade Polish bike. It does 45 kph and is a three speed with a coaster brake. I wanted a Pashley but could not afford that handmade starter bike at the time, so settled for a Creme. @Gionnirocket thinks it is metro-sexual at best. It is fun around town and still takes trails after I put gravel tires on it. I has two sizes of batteries depending on the ride. I would be in regular clothing and pass guys in Spandex on $15,000 eBikes, up hill while sipping my coffee and ring my bell. They had no idea it was electric. Zoom the battery's top in the first image.

They are not any longer sold in the US. I got it for $350 new in box.

Again off topic, In 2019 I sent one of these bikes to my cousin in Boston, when he was released early from Federal prison for pot. He made pizza deliveries with the bike for a while and with it and he saved up. He said the bike is like being in an Italian movie from the early '30's. He now owns the largest grow-house in New England with his children. I do not partake.

My dad had a bike very similar to this Huffy 3-speed bicycle,..
(His was a Raleigh, but it looked the same, but it was dark brown.)

This is the Huffy 3-speed that I had, with a shifter like a Race Car !!!

My 3-speed hot rod didn't have coaster brakes.
You had to pedal backwards while shifting, so it had rim brakes.

I remember it having a tiny little miniature bicycle chain going into the hub to change gears.

I also had a 2-speed bike that switched between gears when you pedaled backwards, so it had a rim brake as well.

Having a three speed with coaster brakes is quite interesting.

Can you take it apart and post some pictures of the gears and stuff?
I wanna see how it works.

One time I rode a Raleigh 3 speed, 70's rootbeer brown, up a Mt. Tam fire trail to the top.

The one with the little chain was a Sturmey Archer. Mine has a little bar that pushes in to shift. I can remove that to get oil in with the bike laying down.

I had a couple coaster brakes apart when I was ~12 yrs old, and managed to fix one by replacing a broken spring clip I found that was obviously broken. (the crank just spun backwards without the brakes engaging)

The other one had a stripped out hub and the clutch plates weren't grabbing the hub, so it needed a new wheel. (the brakes were engaging, but were barely working)



I never took my 3-speed hub apart. All I did was adjust my shifter cable.

I remember a tiny threaded rod (about the size of a spoke) at the end of the tiny little bicycle chain with a tiny little nut to adjust the slack in the cable.

To service the 8-speed Alfine/Nexus hubs I take them out of the shell and soak them in Mobil 1 0W-40 then use lithium grease. As the guy said, 'There is nothing as smooth as a lubed tranny.'
