This is a new one on me, and my first impression is that it’s a very good idea/feature. The new Juiced Scrambler — a high-powered dirt bike-ish affair — has “parent mode” which limits speed/power. I haven’t read up on the details, but this seems like a good way to avoid abusive riding for parents who want to let their kids ride one of these beasts (or buy them one).
Do other bikes have this feature? I know that the former Juiced did not. Well, definitely not on my model.
Just curious what people think about this… I know many of you object to these high-powered ebikes on principle, and I get it. But, seriously speaking, what’s wrong with this approach? It could even be mandated in law, which (IMO) would be better than unenforceable power limits that make no sense to me.
