Many years ago former forum legend and all round nice guy David Berry came up with the idea for this amazing thread! The last few years another legend and genuine nice guy Saratoga Dave took over the reins, sadly Dave hasn't been seen here since the end of September and we can only hope he is just taking a break!

It should probably be @DaveMatthews starting the thread of course to keep it in the Dave family... ;) Anyway I decided to step in and give it a go and I look forward to you all keeping this amazing thread going with your excellent stories and photos! Scotland is in the grips of Winter at the moment so I'm not sure when I will be contributing to the thread but as soon as its safe I will be back out there!

Let's make the Daves proud and get 2026 going, I wish you all a Happy New Year and look forward to reading your posts!

Thank you Rab for making the new thread!

Meanwhile, greetings from the train from Luton Airport to London Blackfriars! London has got her share of winter minus the snow 😊 Frosty here!

Nicely done sir, and thank you for the honorable mention. Here's hoping @Saratoga Dave is merely hibernating for a short term.
These are the Dave's we know...

It's further North here too, TY. Both my body and bike have been in the shop for December. I had a super duper E-bike tuneup from REI in October. The mechanic who introduced himself as the head of the shop did a terrible job. If I can find problems you know it's bad. Luckily just before Xmas I was in town and walked into a new bike store and found the talented lady who built the bike. When I mentioned I had 10k plus "on the tires you chose for my new wheels" she pointed at the rear tire and said she would order me a new pair. I asked the REI guy if he didn't think 10K was a lot for a tire...and he confidently patted the front tire and said I was good.
Thanks for all the great rides and photos from last year though the mention of Dave leaves me longing for warm Australian pictures. I'll try to travel a bit this year and break the monotony of my camera eye.

Wolf moon rising.
I saw an improbable view last afternoon, that is, 5 pm British time. I got off the train at London Blackfriars station, which is located on a bridge across the Thames. I had a look through the glass wall and got stunned by the view. It was already after dark. The City with its high-rise buildings, St. Paul's Cathedral and the Shard (the highest building in Europe on the other river bank) were brightly lit, and the river was between them. The Wolf moon was visible to the left of the City. I took a photo with my smartphone but only a professional photographer could picture the view as actually seen! (So I'm not posting the photo).

Hey any of our coastal friends got any picture(s) of the results of this king tide? I hear Marin is getting hammered (@PedalUma )… Any US east coasters by the water?

How about our European contingent? Are you guys affected by these tidal surge(s)?

It is as high as it goes. We had huge rains overnight and there is the Kingtide. Ramps to docks that are normally at a 30 or 40 degree slope are now at a 5 degree slope. Still some people were on paddle boards. This is a pineapple express storm it is now 60 F.
