Show us pictures of where you ride your ebikes!

I grew up and lived on the peninsula up until 2021. These pictures remind me how much I miss it sometimes. I used to ride many hours on the weekends at Sawyer Camp Trail. ❤️

Happy New Year EBR crew!

I had to get in a ride to start the year off right! 15 miles, 1000ft. A ride in the wet, without getting wet! ...I added a quick fender extension on the front. It worked very well.
And the Greens have it! ...every shade available!

I stopped at about 4 small bridges of maybe 6 with rushing creeks flowing under. only some with pics...

Green with envy...

Another creek and bridge! I've never been here before...I saw some hikers coming through a gate and along the road, so I went to investigate. Corte Madera Creek, off of Alpine Rd. That lead to a trailhead for Windy Hill OSP which I have ridden on my MTB and gravel bikes before (the only bike legal trail in a small park), but the entire park prohibits eBikes.
The forecast was for wind and rain on and off all day. I geared up and did an hour ride for 13 miles.

i haven't been able to do any spirited riding lately, in a bit of a wait and see mode on some major health issues. this week i took the scott out for a bunch of short rides, 10-15 miles, keeping the HR 85-90, just to get some air. today it was so windy on the bridge that even leaned over with the front wheel wedged into the channel of the railing, the wind would knock the bike over, so the only picture i took was from about a foot away :D

enjoy your time in the saddle people, you never know when or why it might come to an end!

in unrelated news, my older brother picked up a creo 2 expert today, the maroon-ish looking one, and took it for a short inaugural spin. (he lives in santa monica, and i happened in the specialized shop there over the holidays to scope it out.)

Boy, isn't that the truth!

Hope you get back to your spirited riding ASAP. That 85-90 bpm HR restriction doesn't leave you much wiggle room.

My latest out-of-the-blue threat to riding is some kind of nerve impingement thing going on in on my left palm. Pressing or putting weight on that spot is no fun now. No idea why.

I can still find workable hand positions on the bar. For now. But if it gets any worse...

Is that you in the pic? If so, that's a very upright riding position, However, you ride a lot, and not just short hops. I would think that any fitting issues would have already shown themselves, and you said that this pain is new.

At this point, I'd ask what has recently changed? Are those new gloves? Grips? Jersey or jacket? Any cockpit adjustments? Off the bike, any new exercises? Housework?

Agree. Thanks for your help!

Nothing clearly pertinent I can think of.

Changed grips to the blue Ergon GA1s in early-September, over 3 months prior to onset. Seemed more comfortable than the Ergon GP2s (top) they replaced. Never rode the stock grips (middle). The blue grips tend to hit the palm just off the sore spot but close enough to trigger it without a little adjustment in hand position.

No to everything else, and no injuries on or off the bike that I recall.

Rode very little in December for various reasons. This pain started mid-month, so not at a time of more riding than usual. First noticed between rides. Odd.

Bars are already flat.

Really don't want to get any more upright than I already am. Direct orders from my butt.
Keen sandals? That's my go to Summer riding footwear! Love them. Looking at that sunshine & sandals makes me long for the Spring to kick in. Sunny here today and -2c so nice and bright. Roads are pretty dry too so could have risked a ride, but stuck doing my annual accounts. Like homework. Dammit.

Those would be too flat for me. Something like the Nitto Bosco Bars would offer more hand positions.

Grant Petersen makes some beautiful bikes, but he is also well known for his cycling philosophy and his book Just Ride. He offers a variety of handlebars that you might find more comfortable.
