Show us pictures of where you ride your ebikes!

I don't know, that sign looks pretty plausible to me. I mean, of course the crocs would lie in wait by the sunken tracks.
;^}
Yeah, we had a crossing like that. The city had to replace the crocs and fill in the pits with loose gravel due to budget cuts.

It's how stupid Johnny imagines Polish 😃

One of stupid Johnny jokes:

-- "Johnny" - the schoolteacher says - "Say a rhyme"
-- "Whistling, shouting, someone's rant
Water reaches up her knees"
-- "Johnny, there's no rhyme here!"
-- "The rhyme here is what hides
It will come with a tide" 😃

Got it?

25 mile out and back ride on my much altered '70s Sears bike with Keyde S110 rear hub drive. ~2050 ft elevation gain in the 1st 12.5 miles, 600ft on the way back. Summit 1800ft doesn't seem impressive but it starts not far above sea level. 7 Mile Hill Rd/State Rd consists of miles of near constant climbing 3-12%, mostly 5-9% per my Garmin.

I think this is a syncline across the river

Im going to have to admit Im struggling, Ive passed it on to 60s Batman

Been weeks since my last ride. Crappy weather and making sure my smashed left arm healed enough. The weather cleared today so had to try it out.
Just a shorty at 13kms but didn't want to push it anyway.

Just a boot out to the sports fields...
Small park near home...

Greenway heading south, road still wet from the rain...

Fields were busy as usual...

SFC having a Christmas do...

Another field closer to home...

Left arm felt OK, no worries, no pain. We'll see what tomorrow brings. Left around 10C and when I got to the first field I wanted to spark up the heated gloves. Left worked, right not. Got home and am testing the questionable battery. Hopefully it just discharged. It's on the charger now...

Welp... I thought I saw a 2 hour window of opportunity today to get out for a ride. Figured I'd go for a supply run just to make the short ride worth it.
Rain had ceased and the weather app said I had a chance, so what the heck...

Out on the streets...

Nicer bike path on this side...

Unfortunately, after gathering said supplies I came out from the store to find it raining...

And it got worse...

Got home drenched, but accomplished the goal.
And just what would get me out in 6C very windy and unfortunately rainy conditions? Well, it's game day baby!

Took a while, but I'm dry now...

Canadian pedestrian didn't like me passing him on the bike path. They get weirdly possessive of the tiniest puddles this time of year.

At least it's 💩ing on your sidewalks now.

They spent the whole summer shitting all over Canada 🇨🇦

And half of them are staying at home to turn the Great White North all speckled with bird turds.

We've got enough problems dealing with the Teenage Mutant Wild Turkeys.

Gee, thanks. I have serious Canada goose PTSD after 20 years of close contact with ever-growing numbers on a small suburban lake in Denver.

OK, it wasn't physically traumatic — just mentally. Ours weren't aggressive when they didn't have eggs or young goslings around. They just ate everything they could (including lawns and gardens) and pooped up everything else. Serious poop. And they seemed to take some pleasure in blocking neighborhood roads — usually when you were in a hurry.

As far as they were concerned, they owned the place. Looks like yours take a similar view.

Our geese did a lot of goofy things that probably made perfect sense to them, but protecting puddles is a new one on me. Of course, ours had a lake within walking distance.

One constant theme in their behavior: They did everything they could to avoid the huge energy cost of getting airborne.

Fricken Honkies !!

Who says pigs can't fly ??

It was a biologist in Toronto in the 60's that thought it would be a good idea to breed the migration instinct out them (by feeding them) to keep our namesake bird here in Canada so we could proudly admire them all year round.

"Smooth Move Ex-Lax",..

(That's the way I remember it anyway? It's from the days before fake facts.)

That was when the scientists told us that DDT was good for you, and killed everything creepy and crawly.

The instructions on our Cardboard Shaker Cone of DDT said to rub it into your scalp to cure head lice.

We damn near sent the peregrine falcon the way of the dodo 🦤 bird.

There was somebody that suggested to just kill the damn things, and give them to poor people who can't afford food.
You're not allowed to kill em' unless you eat em'

That proposal never really got off the ground either.
Who wants to eat poverty food like clams from NYC back in the day, or the KD of today.

Can't tell you how much I wish that containment scheme had worked.

Denver city government did exactly that maybe 5-6 years ago to reclaim City Park from the thousands of geeze residing there year-round. (Your geese really like Colorado.)

Had to get a special dispensation from the Federal goverment to cull them. Gave the meat to various shelters. Mixed public sentiment, of course. But by then, many Coloradans had had it with their goose neighbors, so more support than you might think.
