I am ambidextrous, so left and right don't mean as much a east and west. I just turn a bike upside to work on the drive side.Did they make a left handed model?![]()

Mine is clearly the Model B. I also have several unknown brand monkey wrenches (what they call "automobile wrenches") of various sizes which I still use.A catalog page from 1915 showing a couple of Billing & Spencer wrenches, yours might be one of these.
More importantly … is it available in metric?Did they make a left handed model?![]()
Can you post a clear picture of the makers marks on the dynamic jaw?Mine is clearly the Model B. I also have several unknown brand monkey wrenches (what they call "automobile wrenches") of various sizes which I still use.

Pedal UmaI have a Craftsman adjustable box spanner that is locking to avoid slop. It is nice in my mobile bag because it replaces a bunch of individual wrenches.

A poorly adjusted crescent wrench (adjustable jaw) will slip and round over the nut. A pipe wrench, while unorthodox, will grip like a monster and not slip at all.fyi.... That's a pipe wrench... Jaw designed to grab round objects.
If you don't have the correct socket and breaker bar.. use the correct jaw adjustable

A new modern tool properly adjusted solves those problems.... or perhaps vise grips and a lump hammerA poorly adjusted crescent wrench (adjustable jaw) will slip and round over the nut. A pipe wrench, while unorthodox, will grip like a monster and not slip at all.
Yes...but you typically need a long lever as the freewheel is tightened further with every pedal revolution.Or you could get a Knipex Plier Wrench:

True. I usually just use a combination wrench or socket with a 1/2" drive for that. I think the largest Knipex Plier Wrench has a 16" handle (and costs over $100). I don't have that size though.Yes...but you typically need a long lever as the freewheel is tightened further with every pedal revolution.
