No company is likely to make every customer happy, right? GuruUno's disappointment notwithstanding, Trek has earned its reputation, in my view as an owner of several Treks, as a purveyor of fine bicycles and an oustanding source of support for owners.

I have a XM 700 with 2,000 miles on it. The fork Crown suspension sometimes makes a sharp pop when actuated in a certain way, as when hitting a stone, or a big crack. Whoops! I have it at its firmest setting, BTW. Was scary at first, but now I think that's how it works, and it is indeed working...

My Trek XM700 was set up in Holland, and the walk assist works, pushing the bike along at about 10-12mph without pedal input. I haven't used it except to verify that it works.

I use a 58-60cm road bike, and my 55cm XM700 is almost too tall. At 5'9" (I'm 6'), you would probably do better with the 50cm frame IMHO.
