Just for fun...

I'm sure the better bike will be safer for her. She could ride a rental Kellys e-MTB in our mountains, technical singletracks, and was delighted! Now, she could find the "SUV" model at a Warsaw LBS and probably will buy it. The 2026 discounted model is below the magical barrier of PLN 10k (GBP 1900), and she can afford it. It has the latest 100 Nm model of Panasonic GXM motor, and a 725 Wh battery. Made in Slovakia, not China. A good choice!

I went to the website but can't see any prices -- even suggested retail prices.

The prices are available on the language pages where these e-bikes are actually being sold (Austria, Germany, Czech Republic, Slovak Republic, Hungary and Poland). The launch price of this specific model was EUR3,100, the list price is EUR3,000 in Germany. The list price for Poland is EUR2,700 (expressed in Polish Zloty). That young woman can get this e-bike for only EUR 2,275 in Warsaw. (All prices include the tax).

I go to that page and it gives me every possible spec but no price. I am currently in France, and I did a search for a dealer near to me, and they have one in Toulouse, but still no prices. Sigh.

I asked AI to add a Bafang HD and tie rods. It became very confused and put the pedals under the seat where no one could use them. It really could use a 120W system to get it going 45 mph with some steering.

My twisted mind took the song Autumn Leaves and made it Bosa Nova with the intro to Scheherazade, and that mixed in. It swings like 1964. But the problem is that there are no autumn leaves in Brazil and the lyrics are French and not Portuguese. She looks straight ahead not at me. Oh, well.

I recently decided to start using tubeless tires and bought an air chuck for my compressor to support it. The manufacturer has specific instructions for using the chuck to seat a tubeless tire, as shown below:

I have so much PTSD over trying to (re)seat tubeless tires that I recently let my LBS replace my slowly clogging Clik valves rather than chance it with my Topeak Joe Blow reservoir pump.

Might have chanced it with a home compressor (for which I have no garage space), but still haven't found a deity who bothers to answer prayers.

Has anyone tried the offroad trick of squirting in lighter fuel and igniting it?

Looks like someone has, starts at 8.00

Tubeless kinda sucks, the tires arrive folded with kinks. The juice dries out in six-months and congeals to a lopsided mess that cannot be removed. Adding another two ounces of Stan's does not save rotational weight. I purchased a canister that gives tubeless a boost to seat. It is a pain. Tubes are better. Tubeless failures are catastrophic. What sounds good on paper and what works in the real world are different. Give me tubes with FlatOut. Just put silicone grease in the stems so it does not clog open,
