Hello all! I got my Velotric Discover 3 that I plan to be using as a commuter to work, but am wondering what the best setup would be for transporting my stuff to and from work. I'll be locking my bike outside the office with 2 different Kryptonite locks, but will also have a backpack with my laptop and other stuff. I'm curious what everyone else does to haul everything as I don't think just the backpack on my back will be comfortable.

Things I've considered:

• A basket on the rear rack and keeping the backpack in the basket
• Bungee cord strap the backpack directly to the rear rack
• Panniers to hold everything
• Use the bag that came with my bike for the locks; wear the backpack while riding

Any suggestions would be appreciated!

I didn't remove the panniers, I removed the beer.

I got a bike for free then and converted it, putting fake flowers in the basket and made $1700 the next day, profit. The basket sold it. The guy purchased what he thought was a bad-azz bike online, I assembled and I delivered it with wine, cheese, flowers, and a baguette in the basket. Which totally neutered the bike. Oh, bonus points: What color is the wire to the display on the pink bike? How about from the battery to the motor? Is there a zip tie on the chainstay holding the shift housing? What color is it?

That's funny. I purchased that bike for $450 at Mike's Bikes Spring Mega sale. It listed for $650. They have blow out sales in early Spring and late Summer. To girly girls (of any age) most eBikes look too butch. I also picked up some WTB tan walls it had white kendas and the matching rack. I did a tune on a retired electircian's bike Ron, and at pick-up his wife saw it the day after I purchased it, half-way-done. Debbie was in love at first sight and gave me a 50% deposit. A couple of days later she was riding with her husband. They have traveled all over the US with the bikes in their camper, visiting national parks. I staged the bike with the baguette and flowers, wine and cheese for her at pick up. It even has Pepto Bismol rims. I already had the matching touch up paint to hit the white zip ties on the external wiring.
Today I am doing the through frame wiring on a carbon road bike with an internally routed aero bar. What a PITA. Makes me long for simple bikes.

@Dave Rocks, I laugh at myself more than anyone else. It is part of how I learn. I have an admission. I purchased another bike at the same Mega Sale 6.5 years ago. It was the guy's version of the same Public Bikes pink bike. It is white. I have ridden it almost everyday in all weather since. For one year I rode a demo Como more because it was free when working for the dealer. The $450 Public V7 has I figure about 13,000 miles on it. It is a great commuter bike (for me). A gear cluster is like $28. I just lube in the motor when it gets new tiers at about every nine months. A new freewheel and chain. Jagwire Mountain Pro pads are about once a year. It is due now and I have them. It has a rack with panniers and fenders, an upright riding position, making it a great commuter town bike (for me). It has been running the same motor and battery form 2020.25. That was way back to the TSDZ2a with a small B&W lED display. I have spare parts to keep it going, but am dreaming about a new Pashley with a DMO2 for early 2007.

Look at the brakes and gears. I would do it with black Schwalbe Hurricane tires, a rack, and fenders. The frame allows a belt but I would go with a half-link chain. And would use a microShift eigh-speed shifter, not shown. Or maybe a gravel ready Cues 10-sp Prospero.

I'm seeing a 20" front hub drive as well as a mid-drive to use for hills or heavy loads, a battery bank gas tank, and a removable layer of batteries on the bottom of the basket (and/or bottle batteries on the forks)

The ebike was originally built for the Denmark market.


It is definitely a girls bike.
They used it to pedel their goods (tulips, drugs, sex) without having to pedal to get around the red-light districts of Amsterdam.

They loaded all the flight parameters into a flight simulator as a training exercise for for new pilots.

The pilots came out of the simulator saying that its not possible to land the plane.
(They were tipped off about the abandoned airstrip in Gimly in the simulation)


The pilots in training didn't know that it was a reenactment of the actual event.


Just cuz it ain't possible, doesn't mean somebody ain't gunna do it anyway.

Baskets can help with stability by moving weight forward over the front wheel which helps with traction and stability.

Frame mounted baskets are more stable than handlebar/fork mounted baskets.

Handlebar mounted weight makes the steering sluggish and sloshy.
