Lectric One Cargo pack fitment

I picked up the Cargo pack when I ordered my Lectric One but waited a few months prior to installing. When I mounted the front basket I found that it wouldn't clear the fender-mounted headlight when turning the handlebar, so it will be coming off. I also ran into problems when mounting the rear basket inline. It will not allow the battery to be removed when mounted forward. When I swung it 180 degrees I got a bit more clearance, but the seat post needs to be removed in order for the battery to clear, so it will be coming off as well. The rear basket can still be mounted across the rack, and will allow good battery clearance, but that doesn't work for me.

These are very well made baskets but the fitment is problematic on the One. I will be seeking another solution for the rear rack, prolly go with a strap mount trunk bag. Not sure about the front. Is there anything else that will work with those 4 mount points? I'm thinking not likely. TBH, that frame mount basket that doesn't turn with the handlebars is kinda jarring. Not sure I could get used to that.

It looks like the headlight needs to be moved and mounted to the rack. Have you contacted Lectric support?

Yes, that was their suggestion as well. My problem with that is then the headlight beam doesn't track with the handlebars. Feels like I'm going one way, and the bike another.

How often would you be riding at night vs the convenience of having the basket? Most of the time you will be riding in a straight line. If there are street lights where you are making turns, it would probably be a non-issue anyway. You can also mount a light to your helmet that would light up wherever you are looking.

But you have ridden the bike for a few months without the baskets, so maybe you don't need them. Personally, I prefer to use panniers on the back rack.

At any speed over 5mph you're going to be leaning the bike to turn....not turning the handlebars. Try it, you'll see. However if you eventually graduate to a trike you'll have to learn to ride all over again. Don't ask me how I know....
