When cycling, do you like listening to music?

Not only do I like listening to music, I let others hear my music too.

I have a small BT speaker on my handlebars, it's not loud enough to bother everyone but you can hear me coming and enjoy my old school jams as I pass you by.... Chaka Kahn... Chaka Kahn...

Sadly I'm listening to music less these days while riding. The epidemic of fast ebikes on the paths just make it too sketchy anymore. At any time I might get passed, closely, by some moron on a motorcycle masquerading as something 'legal' at 40 - 50 MPH on a bike path. And it gets worse every day. They've forced me to constantly monitor my 6 - who wants to do that?

I'm riding less too. These people are ruining cycling for me.

Yeah, that may be the solution. Sucks that I have to spend so much money to offset the googans, but that's where we are now

Now, if the Garmin could also vaporize them painlessly before they reach you, that might be worth the money.

People with ear plugs are a hazard. People with boom boxes are obnoxious. I like to listen to the music of the real world around me, to be present, and engaged with reality.

Probably a few feet... I don't play it too loud but it's enough to know there is someone behind them (and if they still can't hear, I ring the bell).

I found an app that mixes my playlists from song to song like a DJ so I feel like I'm at the club.

If you're listening to club music, you might be able to pedal in sync with at least some of it. Do you ever find yourself doing that?

I don't understand why people who play music in public think that everyone likes their particular selections. Most people have their own personal taste in music.

I guess the good part is, riders playing a loud boom box don't need to announce their presence by ringing a bell.

Ever notice, the worse the music the louder it is played? Most often Mariachi, Country, Rap, or Death Metal. There will be a homeless guy on a 20" kid's bike blasting Death Metal for everyone's enjoyment. Then their are the earbud zombies.

I wear a Livall helmet with JBL speakers built in. Not loud enough for anyone else who's not right next to me, but perfect for listening to Jethro Tull, ELO and Yes on the way to work.

That's one homeless guy I'd like to meet! I love me some noisy metal, the crazier the better! I don't listen to anything that's distracting on 2 wheels. Its far to dangerous on the roads and I need to be fully aware of my surroundings. All my motorcycle helmets have integrated audio and the first thing I do is pull it out. Oh, and when I'm riding I'm not answering the phone either unless someone knows the "code" to get me to answer. I ride to get away from all the noise. My car has a nice sound system in it though.

Oh, and I have a weak spot for Mariachi music as well! Fun side fact for my music. I used to run McIntosh from the 60's and this is what I end up doing. I'll set the highs very harsh, the mid's crunchy/distorted and the lows on the muddy side.

We have a guy at work that rides a bicycle and he has a bluetooth water bottle and he plays mostly 70's classic rock. Not super loud but we play Name That Tune when he passes by. Luckily I know a bunch of deep cuts from my older sister. And to think I hated Steely Dan growing up, now I have all the albums on CD.
