This is the place for eBike builders and mechanics who are doing innovative things to share and support each other.
So, I will kick it off:
There is a problem with twist throttles. Unlike a gas motorcycle an eBike can be On and not make any sound. If you are walking the bike and it is On, your hands must be on the grips. If say, you are walking it through a glass door and you bump the throttle grip, the bike will fly forward and up. Each degree more up, the more the throttle is twisted. It is dangerous.
There is a problem with thumb down throttles, although they are safer. It is that they are not ergonomic. You get cramps trying to hold your thumb in that down position. It is a spastic position.
Then there is the what I will call the thumb-in throttle. The thumb moves in towrd the index finger. It is safe and feels natural. But there is a problem when retrofitting one. It will fit the connector but will not work because the wiring is different. Black or ground stays the same but positive and control are swapped. That takes a little soldering and sealing of the wires above the highest connector. The payoff is worth it.
I am not even a throttle guy, but some people like them.

I once tossed my bike with an olympic hammer throw when I bumped the throttle. It spun in a circle and took off. Smashed the rack mount with battery. I know enough to shut off bikes when moving them, but still have accidents

I was rolling one down a hall after testing it in the stand. It leapt up in into the air, climbed a wall, and flipped back on me. My instinct was to hold on tighter but that was what was making the throttle twist more as it went higher.

even a bosch mid drive I was rolling the bike into the garage peddle hit something and it jerked out of my hand. though the motor stoped just as fast.
