I'd post but it would be a bit gross. Where I ride the most notable things are the dead bodies of animals along the roads. Foxes, yes foxes, run over! Hares, kangaroos, possums, snakes. It's like every animal in Australia has a death-wish now. The roads when a mouse plague comes through are really quite unique.

Spotted on this morning's ride through the neighborhood:

The owner turned out to be a new neighbor just moving in. He said it's a 1978 — the last year the original VW bus was made. The previous owner who converted it to a pickup of sorts was a San Clemente surfer who passed up many offers till he a got a buyer who'd agree to keep it in active use here in coastal SoCal.

Couldn't resist the opportunity to reprise a color combo that I happen to be quite partial to.

Perfect for Nor. SD coastal and So. OC! There is a guy in Santa Cruz who drops Subaru WRX turbo engines into them. The modern Subaru WRX engine is a 2.4-liter turbocharged boxer, that produces 271 horsepower and 258 lb-ft of torque. With a new transmission and drivetrain. It is a four cylinder just like the flat four original but with the power of a classic Corvette at a fraction of the weight and much better economy. I spotted one and it is so cool. The sound!

The reason the photos didn't show up right away is simple: For the umpteenth time, I hit the [Post reply] button when I meant to hit the [Attach files] button.

Not really a fat finger problem — these buttons aren't that close together. More a "I should really pay more attention to what I'm doing" problem.
