P.S. Another fun is speaking in English but pronouncing any word as if it was written in Polish. You wouldn't even believe how funny the word "orange" sounds when pronounced the Polish way

P.S. The name Poleski is from Polesie, an area in former Poland (now, Belarus). The name might mean "After the Forest (Was Cut)".

So you imagine your lot was devoid of trees some 400 years ago?

No, my lot was solid beautiful forest. But remember 400 years ago, there were only the native tribes here and they did not chop down vast swathes of forest. That only happened here from about the 1870s. My particular land was last logged in 1952. And I did have to clear an opening in the forest for my house, about 1/2 an acre out of 4 acres.

Went for my 5-year prostate cancer follow-up today. Luckily, barely measurable PSA ever since treatment.

Doc looked up the stats. Told me flatly that at my age, I'll probably die from my totally irresponsible diet long before recurrent cancer gets me.

Which is exactly the order I want with this particular cancer. But the odds aren't quite 100%.
