Pinion Motor.Gearbox.Unit (MGU)

I need a manufacturer to show a member of the public spinning the pedals without the belt or motor attached and their reaction to the drag
Perhaps the Pinion.MGU has a double internal clutch like any decent mid-drive motor.
Your concern might be substantiated!
(From what I hear, the TQ HPR 40 motor has no internal clutches, and the clutch action is simulated electronically...)

As Ive said many times before, only a matter of time before ebikes have an engine light, limp mode and dealer only plug in diagnostics.

Pinarello dropped them like a hot rock. Lots of motor failures and Fazua was difficult to deal with for warranty issues.

In my neck of the woods, everybody wants DJI and their 1000W burst throttle. We are trying to bring a line in that has them, but it's been tough.

Dji throttle? Not that I was aware of. They have 1000Wh of peak power in boost mode & 120nm torque. For comparison after the latest CX update it's now up to 750Wh boost & 100Nm torque.

The Avinox system is getting criticism for being more 'motorbike' like then Bosch or Brose etc to ride uphill, relying on a mix of cadence and torque sensors that heavily favours cadence. Fine if you want to just blast up the hills, but the riding experience is not as MTB riding-like with a more measured system like the CX.

DJI have won the PR war that's for sure. The new Mahle M40 mid drive motor, rated excellent by pretty much all those who have tried it, has got completely lost in the mix.

Re Fazua: they expanded too quickly I think and the 50 system had heaps of issues, which as a tiny company they were not prepared to deal with all the warranty claims that hit them. It's a shame (though short sighted of them) because they are innovative; the idea of being able to remove both the drive and battery and run your gravel bike as an analogue bike was a pretty cool idea. Trek also hung them out to dry in US as they scrambled to keep up with Spesh and their Mahle co produced SL motor when it came out. Trek's never ending "If a rival has it, let's not engineer our way out of trouble let's just buy the rival" company policy. The newer Fazua 60 motor system (60NM) seems to be getting a better reception, but I don't know if it also has reliability issues. They've since been bought by Porsche cars, though god knows what that means in real terms.

It's not a throttle per-se, but you push a button and all of a sudden have a kilowatt on tap. You have to pedal to get it, but it's not an assist mode at that point, with a relationship to the rider input. It's a lot like a foot controlled throttle.

The other thing about the DJI is the riding dynamics out of the box. The power comes on earlier, and stronger, than some other DU's. Yes, they can all be tuned, but first impressions sell bikes. Their thermal management is also superior to others. This may not matter to casual riders, but it does to racers.
