I rode 22 miles today, for those of you on the metric system I think that’s 456 kilometers but my math is a little fuzzy.😀. The picture is on a flat river bottom area with a couple or nice house tucked up on top of the bluff with great views. The picture is from the same spot one is just zoomed in on one of the houses.

One big advantage to going metric: Your rides sound a lot longer and faster, and rider and bike weights sound a lot smaller.
;^}
When I was in Texas, I saw 900 miles to some city on a road-sign. It is unbelievable to me how big the U.S. is.
Once, mschwett made me aware the distance from San Francisco to Los Angeles was approximately the same as from Warsaw to Budapest :)
Now, you can understand why I feel more at home in the UK, which is actually smaller by area than Poland, only travelling there is slower than it is in Poland :D

But, Jeremy please do not lie. You do not measure U.S. distances in miles. It is hours :D

I say: 'It is 32 km to Specialized Warsaw'. An American would say "It is 6 hours to the next Giant LBS" :D

There is a website that compares countries to any US state by size. I usually compare a country to Illinois since I’m from there. For example Poland is 2.2 times bigger than Illinois but Texas is 2.2 times bigger than Poland.

True. I did a similar comparison myself. Poland is roughly the size of New Mexico but we are a 38 million nation plus two million of Ukrainian refugees.

Temp touching 90 degrees
We occasionally have such temps in Poland in the summer, and we perceive them as "very hot".

Once, we played an open air concert at 32 C. My guitarist (the one with a bare torso) almost fainted from the heat.

(There is a video where my drummer and me the bassist keep the show going while the guitarist covers his forehead with the arm).

Yeah, but how many hours did you spend traveling? :)
Well, I was the driver only on one of the visits. It took me half the day to cross Houston TX on its diameter but we took that trip intentionally to kill the time between the morning and afternoon appointments :)

It’s particularly striking today because a) my dog is sick and has been throwing up all day, and b) it’s a shock to the system when it’s been cool until now. We have 15-20 days during the summer that are a bit unbearable here in central MA. I’m more of a cool/cold weather person anyway, but it is what it is.

Just fancy how a moderate country Poland is when we say 24 C (75 F) is "pretty warm" and gravel cyclists are scared of 28 C (82 F) on a race...

And theres us all wondering if we had a rockz star in the forum.
'yeah man, he was a great bassist, but it all went downhill when he got hooked on gravel'.
