Yes, I saw that. I guess Bosch decided that anyone who has the "old" System 2 will have already bought those components if they had wanted them.

Can Bosch powered bikes be still bought new with System 2?

Over the last few days, the maps have been updated on both the Nyon device and also the Ebike-connect app.

Bosch BES2 in indeed fasing out, for OEM's there are just spare parts, complete bikes could still be in stock but no new BES2 bikes wil be build with new components. So from a few months back just new bikes should be build with BES3/Smart system.

I did not hear of this feature to be discontinued to be able to buy premium features. Full focus I think on BES3 at Bosch.

Since Bosch is still offering parts for Bosch Classic and there are still new bikes in bikeshops with BES2 I think Bosch will back up BES2 for the upcoming years

No, I don't think it's stupid to buy a new, leftover bike with System 2. However, I would not advise that you buy one for 6500 Euro. For that kind of money, you can get one with the Smart System and gain all the advantages of that platform.

No, it won't be useless. Buying a System 2 bike today means no more upgrades, not no more support and no more parts. There will be no new features. No new head units. If you're happy with the bike and don't wish for anything from the Smart System, then go for it.

Depending on how much you ride, in 7-10 years, you may need batteries and maybe a motor. Bosch should have both.

I'm one of the few active people on this forum that have a Bosch System 2 dual battery system (1125W/h). I think it's great for the riding that *I* do. You haven't told us a thing about your riding expectations. All you've talked about are bike specifications.

Nobody here wants to ask a bunch of questions, so why don't you tell us how (slow, fast, short rides, long rides, unloaded, loaded, etc.), where (city, path, suburbs, rural, off road, paved, flat, rolling, hilly etc.) and what your top priorities for the bike (fit, weight, cargo capacity, range, speed, looks, ride data, navigation, etc.) are.

I'd argue that in 2017 or 2018 they were something special. But their designs really haven't moved on from what they made back then and the state of the art has moved on. So yeah, kind of like an old iPhone.

Most important: Sturdy, fast, reliable, can have a Thule attachéd to it. Belt, big motor etc.

The other I have watched it Moustache J on/all. Dont know..

Well, if you're out with the tent and children going 100km, assuming you're towing a trailer, then you'll have to have a) a dual battery system, b) carry an extra battery, or 3) have charging capability and several hours to recharge at the halfway point. You might be able to do that with a 750W/h battery and the 250W/h range extender for the Smart System. The dual battery equipped System 2 bike will do that for sure.

If most of your riding can be done with the Smart System bike with a range extender, I'd go for that, simply because it's the latest electronic technology for Bosch. You could always carry a second range extender for the trailer. If you just want to power up and go anywhere you want to from the jump, get the System 2 bike.
