I mean a genetically altered animal. Not like the humanized mice used as test subjects in the virus Gain of Function research, something cool. Would you buy one if they came out with some nifty features?

Humanized? I think most folks adopt pets to get some interaction with another living thing without the terrible human traits.

What terrible traits do humans have that are unique to humans? Presumably one would not want a pet that had prominent objectionable traits.

My thought, when I first looked at this thread, is that dogs have been altered, mostly through selective breeding, to be able to live in close proximity to humans. I look at my dog and there is simply no way that an English Bulldog would have naturally occurred. Further, I doubt that he would be able to live two weeks without human intervention.

My dog is definitely a male. But gender doesn’t matter for them to put the beast in the pot.

The dog's sex is "male". "Gender", from previously being just a word use differentiation reflecting the sex of the subject, has in our lifetimes become a psychological determination of the individual's mind or will wrt choices or preferences being made.

By "humanized", I mean in the way the scientists use the term...directly genetically altered, like the mice used in experiments. They have had human genes inserted.
