With 125% tariffs, will the e-bike market die?

You have to resist metric America, once thats in place it will be baguettes in McDonalds and everyone trying to get on the bus at the same time.
OK maybe the second bit has already started.

As if U.S. McDonald's were anything good 😊 Come to Poland Chris, you'll learn something new 😊

the French set the standard meter way back when,I forget exactly and the particulars, volume and distance is easy with the metric system,I believe weight is actual mass, very helpful, weight as we know is based on a gravitational attraction of around 32 fps(English) as I understand it,when you start measuring thing apothecary things get interesting something like 7000 grains to the English pound( my stomach is starting to flop around,I better quit(YMMV or litres to the "click" please do all your calculations on "Zulu" time.
Mass is kg, force is N (newton) or 1 kg * m/s^2. Gravity is 9.81 m/s^2. If someone says "I'm 100 kg" they mean their body mass, or the old unit kG (9.81 N)

( shouldn't it be MacDonalds?(son of Donald-big"Mac",not Mick-
I don't know. The brand was born in the U.S. :) Why aren't you MacCune?

The metric system is somewhat based on water at sea level. One liter is one kilogram of water, and a centimeter is the space of one cubic gram of water. One thousand cubic grams of water in a line makes a meter and would weigh a kilo. Water freezes at zero and boils at 100. When it is about 22 that is a nice day for a ride.
I do not use AliExpress but just looked. Shipping fees for a bike motor from Hong Kong are $100 because they are declaring its value at $69. It is all nuts.

Sea water or fresh water?
I know it was a rhetoric question to check Uma's knowledge :)
Fresh water at 4 degrees Celsius.

There were more water based units such as calorie. The specific heat of water is 1 kcal/kg-C. The metric system uses kJ/kg-K though.

the originators used a decimal unit for the meter, think it was from the equator to pole( they were French check your history. Google it of course its more precise now.
Of course. It is still a mystery for me why a cubic metre of pure water at 4 C weighs exactly 1000 kg or the viscosity of water is exactly 0.1 N-s/m^2 (0.1 Pa-s) at 20 C :)

Kevin, why is the American unit of heat named British Thermal Unit BTU, and when will the POTUS rename it to ATU? :D

One thing for certain... there's never been nor will there ever be a Polish unit of anything. πŸ™ƒ
Though watching an adult film this one young lady was able to make an exceptionally large Dill disappear and was applauded for her ability to Polish a knob 🀣🀣🀣

shhh! dont give him any ideas, that guy is gonna "boom or bust" this country( to-whit-to-whit;) plenty of Cuckoos in this country, slouching toward Jerusalem to be born!
To make it even funnier, the word "ATU" (short for 'atut') means TRUMP in Polish. Like in jeden bez atu (One No Trump, 1 NT) in the card game of bridge :)

I've been seeing a lot of that as well, especially bike parts. Prices have risen but often they straight up won't ship to the US. I needed a part for an Ltwoo groupset and managed to get it in before s*it hit the fan, but it did sit in Baltimore for like two weeks waiting to clear customs. If it doesn't work or I need something else I imagine I'm just screwed and will need to replace the groupset.

For other things I participate in that has some AliE component, some companies have been routing through the Netherlands to try and avoid tariffs, and some have just raised prices 50-100%.
