Awww. I think it looks pretty. Much prettier than the relentless mud and road puddles and rising creeks that our rainy and snowless winter here in NoVA has presented us. :( I miss the white stuff. It has been over 6 years since we've had enough snow to allow us to take out the sleigh.

I don't miss the "white Scheisse" at all. We tend to have frosty and snowy winters in Poland. It is the first warm February in many many years. It should have been -25 C (-13 F) and a lot of snow and ice here now. I was young, we were a poor young family in early 1990s and had no car at that time. On heavy winters, I had to ride out with my steel road bike for shopping. I was doing that in heavy regular winter clothes and could manage the shopping with a 7 km round trip. Luckily, I had my old skiing goggles at that time. Something like 3 years ago, our car broke and I had to do the shopping riding my acoustic hybrid bike during a hard winter as well, only the new shopping mall was closer. Finally I gave up and was making a weekly shopping with a local taxi; we also did online shopping at that time.

The white crap is a nuisance, especially in our yard. There was a winter when my car got stuck in the yard. I called our local mechanic and he drove to us with his off-road car capable to tow. Yes, he could tow my car out on the street. Then his car slipped and got stuck in the snow-drift. He got furious and broke all my four spades before he could get on the road again!

No, I don't miss snow at all!
:D

I miss it. This was taken in 2002, probably one of the last times we had the sleigh out. Think about that. 18 years ago that we had just the right kind of snow for the sleigh. Cold, fast and light. Anything else isn't worth bringing the sleigh out of the carriage house, and may be borderline dangerous.

Can't wear fur coats on a bike, either. The wind resistance would be unreal.

Our weather might be just teasing us. We should have snow and ice. We had snow and ice, but it melted. I wore shorts on New Years as it hit 50 degrees. We had another day like that a week ago. It is nice to be able to ride around on dry roads, but there is the thought that it could snow again and get cold again. It was about a year ago that we had the nastiest winter day. Snow was falling hard and the wind was howling. Our orchestra did not have a tuba player because he was snowed in and only a few hardy folks came to our concert. I walked to it because I didn't want to drive in the blizzard.

That could happen yet. We are not safe from winter here on the east side of Warshington.

We've had snow and cold on the west side, too - my bike can handle the cold, but I can't! Last time I rode, in January, my feet got completely numb! I'm not going to get kitted up like Nanook of the North to ride... That's no fun.

Spending some time in NC now, and missing my bike! I don't WANT to buy another La Free to keep on the east coast, but I might HAVE to 😜!

My wife might be selling hers here in Virginia. We have to do some offroad to get to bike paths so may go hardtail mtb

Where in VA? We're in the Greensboro, NC area for a bit. Let me know if she decides to sell, please. Is it the E+1, or 2?

Nice weekend in the Chicago area. Couldn't ride yesterday. Saw the Donna Summer musical downtown and the lake front path looked inviting at 55F. We went riding today though, and it seemed busier than summertime on the bike routes.

Everyone and his dog was out as we got close to 60F. Although I last rode on President's day when it was below freezing, I seemed to have lost a lot of pep in 10 days. Came home beat after an hour.

What's all of that white stuff? We're forecasted for an unusually warm 80 deg here today and tomorrow, so I had to get my daily ride in earlier, while temps were still in the 60's.

California weather - the only thing our politicians haven't been able to f' up in this State!
