Wing Freedom 2 or X ver 2?

Has anyone bought the newer version of the Freedom X/2 with the stealthier battery?

I've read maybe one or two reviews here and seen some Youtube videos but nothing really recent.

An old college friend is looking to buy an ebike, and was asking me for shopping advice. Since she lives in NYC, I thought the Wing Freedom ST might be a good choice since she could buy it from their nearby showroom. On paper it looks like a decent bike based on the current sale price. I found a few older comments about Wing, in general, on Reddit. Those comments were pretty negative, but not recent. I don't see a category for Wing In the Brand section, so I'm bumping the post from BigNerd last year. The rest of the Wing roster has a Vanmoof type frame, so it caught my eye. Any thoughts?

I wrestle with the look of the crossbar on the X2, but I like the look of the Freedom. As a vertically challenged fellow, the bar gives me visual tension ;)

I still haven't bit, even with their perpetual $600 off sale.

I really just want the silver one with the gray tires because it looks cool... just don't know if I can go back to non-hydraulic brakes.

So with the 600 off, what is the final price including ship?

Depends what battery size you want... cheapest Freedom 2 just less than $1k:

The silver one looks nice (although I'd switch the seats and handlebars back to black):

Sharp looking bike, but I have to go along with Taylor. I'm tall enough at 5'11", but I think my days of climbing onto the bike over the rear fender are behind me.

The other unheralded feature of this bike (Freedom X, not Freedom 2) is a torque sensor, which doesn't sound like a big deal until you get used to having one. Torque sensor are much smoother to pedal.
