Where do you keep your bike?

Bike shed I built (before it was finished being painted and trimmed). Room for 2 bikes for easy access. Rolls out on wheels and has power for charging.

here the most households have a dedicated bikeshed/storage in the Netherlands. We store most of our bikes there, a few folding bikes are stored in house and the bikes at the datcha are also in a bikeshed. No electra in it so charging is under the popup tent on the patio or in the living area depending on the weather.

in area's as Amsterdam most people lock their urban bikes (the one you would take to the train station or the pub) to street furniture. The more expensive bikes live in the stairwell or on the balcony. Locking an E-Bike outside is tricky https://www.bbc.com/news/articles/c771v2y078po

And yes, we have more bikes per person than the average here (which is 2.3 bikes per person)

wow that is awesome. In my house it is 2.5 bikes per person (2 people, 2 electrics, 2 folders, and my wife still keeps her older bike)

Mine stay inside my attached garage, I don't store my bikes outside at all. In the garage I have 3 ebikes and 2 analog bikes, and I can still get my small car inside there also, need be.

I keep my 5 ebikes in my attached 950 sq-ft 3 car garage with two vehicles. I have five Steadyrack mounted on the wall for two 4 inch fat tire ebikes, one 4.8 inch fat tire ebike, and two 2.3 inch Radcity step-thru ebikes with fenders. I usually keep two ebikes on the garage floor in the open 1 car space between the vehicles we ride the most. I run an extension cord to ebikes on the floor to charge as needed. The attached and insulated garage doesn't seem to get too cold or too hot to worry about moving the batteries into the house.

At work I have a nice spot under the stairs with an exit door right there I can access. Unfortunately we are downsizing and will lose that side of the building in a few weeks.

I love Amsterdam. I love the food. I mean, it’s a very diverse selection. I’d love to move there when I retire, but that’s too far to be from family here. It’s a hard decision. Thanks for sharing the photos. The bike culture was one of the things I liked. They are everywhere. Very easy to get about the town.

Our many bikes are in our detached garage. I bring the batteries inside for charging. I charge my scooters when I’m working in the garage. Hard to bring an 80lb scooter up 2 flights of wooden stairs.

The most important things are to keep the batteries out of the living area, and the bikes locked up out of view I suppose. I like the little shed idea a lot. The common bike shed behind an apartment complex is probably a very poor idea for obviously expensive electric bikes. But "adult tetris" is what I usually see. Nice phrase.

That’s tricky for me. I like to periodically check on the battery while charging. I guess maybe I should just charge them in the garage and set a timer to check on them. Sometimes I think too much about stuff and it gets in the way of the other s*it I have to do.

I see lots of people using that method. I should adopt that. :)

I guess my issue is that now that the timer has expired the charger is still plugged into the battery. I guess I shouldn’t be too concerned if something happened to the charger, it would affect the charging port.
