What's the name of your bike?

So maybe it's a girly thing but I'm hoping not. I have named all of the bikes I've had as an adult. There's been Abby, Purdy, Julia, PoC and my current bike Lucy. Does anyone else name their bike and what's it called? :)

I hope Abby, Purdy, Julia and PoC are not jealous of Lucy now :D
Our brains are wired differently for sure.
Question: What kind of laptop do you have?

Boy:
I have a 15" Thinkpad with 4th generation Quad-core I7 processor with 16GB of Qualcomm Ram and Nvidia GeForce GTX 870M video driver and full HD OLED display etc.

Same question to a girl; What kind of laptop do you have?

Ans: Pink one.

But I did name my Bike as "Kundalini" :) and this discussion reminds me of this video...

Oh I don't have all of them, currently Julia and Lucy but Julia is being sold to pay for my eBike which yes you've guessed it I've named. She's going to be called Eve after the robot in Wall-e.

Also embarrassingly I do own a pink laptop but I bought it because it had a good spec not because of the colour that was just a bonus. I work in IT I'd never live it down if I got picked up a Windows Vista machine with 1 gb of ram just because it was pink.

I used to name my bikes ... there was Chase, Sir Lancelot, Julie and then they just became bike or their model name ... :)

It is a girly thing.. but cute ;)

I did name my MG Midget in high school though.. Can't repeat it here due to obscenity laws...lol

Ok, I'll divulge something which should make at least a few of your laugh....

My avatar bike was a "T"rek "E"lectric "D"rive, so I called it "TED".

Then, one day I said "I'm going to ride TED", and my friend busted out laughing (I'm a heterosexual man).

Maybe I should have picked a different name....

:D

Hey Kez, what model bike are you getting?

;)

I'm getting the eProdigy Banff, it's a really cute little cruiser/hybrid type bike. I was able to test one out but it was an older model and the battery was dead (it's a bike rental store so they are used a lot). Loved the look and more importantly the fit was right, I seriously can't wait to get it. I like bikes and have had a few but I honestly can say I've never been this excited to get one. Hoping to have it this weekend..fingers crossed.

I got passed by Lycras last week for the first time, and imagined them snickering... not really but it was funny to think so.

I was taking it easy on my battery into a probably 15+ mph headwind, riding at pedal assist 1, in order to maximize range. The afternoon winds are practically regular as clockwork along the bay trail, and we regularly have kite boarders out playing in the white caps. Anyway, these two amazing guys, drafting each other and super focused, worked their way past me and into the wind. Like I said - amazing focus and athleticism. Meanwhile I'm getting back into cycling in my 50's as part of a plan to manage my Type 2 diabetes, so I'm pretty satisfied with the slow progress I'm making getting fit.

This is an awesome question Kez... I like you, thanks for bringing some girliness here :D

To be honest with you, I wish I could name all of my things but some things naturally get it and others just don't. I'm not sure why? Seems like older used stuff with more character gets named and the sophisticated, shiny new tech stuff gets a brand label and spec. My current car and bike are both like this, no fun names...

That said, I want to share an amazing friend named Maybeline with you... My favorite, most beautiful best friend car ever!

Instead of converting it to solar we accidentally blew up the engine (well... my friend did, sucked in sand while romping on the dunes) and I put a new one in, fixed it up and sold it to another off road enthusiast. I miss her but am glad to have the memories.

Apologies for the late reply I've been in Vegas losing all my money, then I had to wash dishes in order to get home :p Seriously though, first time in Vegas and why the heck do people play the slot machines it's sooo boring. I get blackjack, roulette etc at least there is some modicum of thinking involved but slots ugh. Anyway back to bikes...I just got home so haven't had a chance to get out on Chummy (long story but she's a character in a BBC drama and the name really fits the bike) so once I do I'll update you on how it's going. For now I love the look and the brief couple of rides I have had have been fun. I do wish there was some suspension as it's a heavy bike and tends to plonk itself down in potholes which can lead to my back feeling like it's a xylophone but hopefully once out on the well maintained bike paths that won't be an issue.

Maybeline is/was one rad truck. I love Tacoma's, really great trucks, would love one but for now I'll make do with my trusty Ford (it's called Austin..yeah baby! :D) who despite being ancient runs like a dream so I won't be getting a new car for awhile. Sand + engine..yeah that would do it. Glad it was fixable though :)

Buzz, I was looking for an old Reddy Kilowatt sticker to put on the bike but couldn't find one on eBay etc, but I found a cool Buzz Lightyear sticker (actual a MacBook skin) that that I put on the battery so now I think of it as Buzz.

I love Call the Midwife... Always end up crying! That's some quality, uplifting and real television right there. Thank you Netflix; at least I think it was on Netflix recently? Anyway, I like your truck's name (and that movie as well). For some reason a new name for an older junky bike just came to mind but it's not so pleasant... Barfalina?
