What kind of headlight do you use (or recommend)?

For those looking for a 12v offroad light, this is a 60 degree flood. It is just a small idea of what is available on the cheap. It has good reviews. Comes in a 30 degree spot as well. Eddie, your budget alternative light is 99 quid! Choke, choke. Don't want to spend that on a primary, but you do serious off road miles.

The cheapest that I have seen is £62.00 (Link Removed - No Longer Exists) But my concern is whether it is real or fake. For an evening of off road use, you would also need to basically throw away the existing battery holder and fit your own six or eight cell 18650 battery pack.

You can't really go wrong with cheapo Cree lights for say £15.00, and for 95% of the time they are fine. I prefer the wider spread of the beam from the Fenix light, and I was able to justify the cost, as I'm now out riding four to five nights a week.

Ultimately though, any light is always going to be a compromise.

I'd love to use a single Cree as a helmet light, but I can't. Alot of my riding time is spent ducking under trees etc, and I'm already brushing both my helmet and back pack on a regular basis, and don't fancy the injury risk of a helmet mounted light.
