Watt Wagons Ultimate Commuter 2 rides 175 miles now 1075 miles, more than 2 rides

Rode the Bh yesterday after removing the rear wheel and replacing rear brake pads, also put on different pedals. Bike rode great , almost would buy again…nah…but still was a nice ride, i must have got lucky got the wheel in a good position in relation the torque sensor

I have a working bike , can do maybe 80 plus miles a trip so I can wait for the repair and the new bikes a week or 2

Heard from Trek on the other bike today, not real happy. A problem that showed up in the 2nd month of ownership with only 1200 miles is now costing $285 to rebuild the rear wheel with help from Trek. I will be giving Corparate an ear full after all the hassles I have been through due to the misdiagnoses on the original shop. Paying for additional wear repairs which weren’t needed , multiple shop visits and my favorite is the bad attitude I got from the service manager.

ride tomorrow…
Don't stop with just one letter. About one a week for a while would be appropriate. That shop should lose its franchise.

Thx, they at least lost a customer , Atlanta Cycling Vinings . Funny is I bought a bike locally for the great service they were supposed to have, they don’t!

Spare bikes are not wasteful ! They are necessary. The Trek mayy become a spare if it doesn’t need a chain and cluster so often…and the repair works.

Purchase bike = n+1 while working bikes = n-1 has been my experience. It could be my fault , it could be the bike’s fault but is pretty consistent

1 more equation being known for ebikes amoung friends = n+2 for your couples

Maybe someone can solve these 3 equations better than I, n= a gizzillion?

So many bikes, so little time ……..

Long post…

Back from Boston , picked up 2 more UCs, one med , one small, and had mine repaired. Carried 1 up and 3 back, getting this van paying off now. A little rubbing on the left hand grip and even smaller rubbing on the fender, may want to replace the grip , my fault for not checking early on trip. Nothing else noticed so better than shipping even if we didn’t have a great time.

my wife and I really enjoyed the time spent with Pushkar on a personal level. We all went to dinner at a suburban restaurant where we managed to get my lobster roll and her clam chowder and just chatted, even about ebikes some.

My repair was a right crank, rear rotor, and a new Kindernay. There was an upgraded rotor on the front added also, I don’t remember if anything else was done , rides great again. I bent the crank falling along with the brake handle or shifter being moved. The rotor was warped or felt like it so replaced. The Kindernay was replaced since it was leaking early in its life and being a PIA wished it replaced out of abundance of caution, no push back received.I am not sure if anything else was done I did not watch the repairs, they were done by his tech/shop guy Jonas I believe ( remembering names and age not a good combo, apologies if wrong) . Nice gentleman , asked many questions to make sure everything correct when complete.

My wife and I got to ride together for the 1st time in over a year test riding along the river and enjoying the houses in the area getting around 20 + miles in, awesome. currently all the riding I should do with what appears to water on the knee , time for a doctor Monday or ASAP , no pain but not good.

on the return trip we stopped in NC to drop off my brothers bike. His is a med, we both noted that we thought the center of gravity might be higher on this frame than the large I have , tip in was very quick once started but also he needs get used it to it. I was not having the same amount of issues as he but could tell a little difference I think. I went to install the bell and external lights for him and something all of them were more of an effort than I realized they would be. Location for pieces weren’t as obvious. On my wife’s bike with a Brooks saddle the real light mounts on the rails of seat, pretty neat . On his bike he has the Fysic seat, fatter and slightly spaced different rails, ended up usii the alternate mount on seat post , not as clean

next the bell, with its unique mount system and no space near the grips , almost had it mounted on the right grip but not really good, had to mount it to upper bar, a little far to reach comfortably. i didn’t have any torx wrenches with me so I could not move anything already mounted on the handle bar.

Last was the main light. Bright , bright, bright, huge ext battery. Played with the battery mount , there was no flat place along any bar that was not already occupied by the main battery so it was hanging slightly over the down curve of the top frame, OK I guess but we worked on the the light mount on the handle bar and never came up,with anything which did not block the beam. It would not mount on the thin bars across with all spacers, stilll to thin. Night riding or road riding will not be done by him so no issue at this time

I have not checked back with Pushkar on any of this yet . He may be reading about it 1st here so no complaints! I expect they either have answers or will do a mock set up in the shop and get back to me. I have a few small/med Niteriders to use for the time being

all 3 of us don’t like the spikes in the pedals, removed wife’s and brothers, mine are still in currently looking for very short replacements if possible at some point. All 3 of us bled on our legs this week, just a little but…

Enough for now

all 3 bikes are waiting on risers, make them even more comfy for us old people

My new Kindernay has not leaked a drop. When I got the original back from repair in Norway, I filled it with oil and it leaked just like before.

Pushkar then sent me a new hub and they've made some changes. The new case feels like a different metal and isn't as shiney as the original. The torque arm was black plastic on the original and is now metal. I've only got about 50 miles on the new hub but so far so good. Hope you have the same experience.

Great post! I love hearing about others experience of various facets of something I want to do....buy WW bikes in this case.

hind Sight, me too thought nothing of it, stuff I can normally do. when I do our 1st long over night(s)ride with my brother mass/Boston meets most ideas of what we want for the trip except the $45 of tolls 1 way lol… go back and have fun and get biked checked out/maintenance

no wall to see yet and if Pushkar reads this why didnt I get your free advertising t-shirt while there, lol?

I am concerned about the FS version…what if I like it…n + 2 And the off road …n+3 ?

ignore bold , damn computer

Dang.. I missed the T-shirts.

They just came in .. I am going to send those to the ones on the post.. apologies for the delay.

i am thrilled that I was given a pre clean bill of health , no restrictions , ace bandage on my knee when riding for compression. As we say good riddance to Fred and all the rain I expect to be out testing my repaired bike for a 100 or so miles tomorrow , prob won’t get that far but as always my goal. I have sold/almost gave away my 2 old Stromers and they will be gone in a week or so. i have to decide what to do with my Trek Allant ,probably sell, it is all repaired with an upgraded rear wheel rebuild. I think I will try to ride the Bh until it is done, could be any ride lol.

Not sorry I sold them at all, I would have kept them if they worked, I have other bikes and probably more coming if I can find a need to use a different style bike . We are still pretty house bound and even more so with variants. I have a wonderful almost flat , well manicured paved 100 mile trail near me so I can ride that anytime, still have not ridden on all of it and it connects to Atlanta to go even more places.

I want to add when I got my 1st ebike , I read how they got rid of hills, wind and most other slow downs or high effort riding. I have noticed that I would still leave against the wind (for easier 2nd 1/2 trip home ) or uphill to start and downhill home. This bike is the 1st one where it really doesn’t matter, it has the power to completely over come this. May use more battery but I have 3 with me and 1 in a van if I drive to my starting point.

looing forward to tomorrow’s ride

i Was looking at a Level as a spare at one point, no good or not not good enough?

Using my friend Google

The most recent state to “adopt” an official state dog is Georgia. In 2016, the state legislature passed a bill to name adoptable dogs, not a specific breed, their official state canine, reports AJC.com.Mar 21, 2018

missing an big edit ..

I looked up more Alabama doesnt have 1. Only 13 states have them.

I must admit I don’t understand at least 1/2 your posts. I am the guy who can’t see the trees cause of the forest or the other way, I don’t do a whole lot of slang.

i understand 10 hi time but usually it is high time where I am .

rode 85 smooth miles or so yesterday, 1st ride in a while so of course leg cramps at night, walking around a dark quiet house for 20 minutes or more hoping they subside

I will post more pictures but currently stock with a bell on mine, no bell on her yet…and pretty much dirty now , mud.
