I have a Specialized Turbo Tero 5 and Turbo Tero X 6 and I am looking for a simple neoprene cover to wrap around the downtubes with the integrated battery removed during transport on my Quikr Stuff Mach 2 hitch mounted rack.
I want the neoprene wrap to essentially protect the battery cavity from wind, rain, and road grit while transporting the bike on the hitch mounted rack without the battery installed. I have read that some people will fill the cavity with a trimmed foam pool noodle and wrap the downtube in Saran Wrap to protect it, but I am looking for a simpler, more repeatable solution, with a Velcro cover. I see these covers on amazon.com, so I may just try one of them.
I was hoping to find a 3D printed battery cavity cover for the Specialized Turbo Tero 5 on eBay or Etsy, but no luck.
I like the idea of shaving off about 10 lbs of battery when transporting the bike on my hitch mounted rack, so I am looking for a simple and repeatable way to protect the battery cavity.
What have others done? Any advice?
