Unit Pack Power battery goes boom

Looks like there are several assemblers of UPP batterie. Mines is spot welded and everything is neat. I think when you go beyond the batteries parameters (trying to get more power, wiring up in series or parallel like old Louis there) then problems arise. I don’t know but I know of 17 UPP batteries out there (11 fitted by myself) and absolutely no problems at all. But if their batteries don’t suit you then you can buy another type or even better, build one yourself. When my batteries start deteriorating as i do many miles, I will be putting Sanyo cells in the UPP case unless a much better battery than 18650’s become fashionable…!

No your definitely doing a ‘mines bigger than yours. Anyway you have a lot of time to be on forums, whereas i have to go and do some work. BTW i am a fully qualified Engineer in several disciplines so i kinda know what i am doing. I find being polite to companies gets you further. I get good service from them and fit them as instructed and no problem. But i can admit not everyone is happy with UPP, maybe it’s just the conversion set up i use suits the battery.

I’m really happy with 21700 battery builds. 21700 builds are becoming less expensive than 35e and comparable 18650’s. New 48v 21700 from Aigu will be ordered this week.
