Uneven Tire Wear

I have under 500 miles on my new bike and just noticed that my rear tire is wearing on one side. Of all the bikes in my life, I've never seen this. Could someone explain this and was wondering before I call Aventon if this would be covered under the warranty? Just wondering.

Is the wheel running crooked? Lift the back of the bike and see if it is truly vertical. Then check the position of the wheel in the frame. The axle should be in the same place on both sides. If the wheel was installed wrong it should be covered under warranty.
