UBN Line

That's enough Specialised talk in this R&M UBN thread from the special people! :)

Don't the new R&M's look nice! There's even a Fixie for the Hipsters out there!
UBN belongs to the category of very few lightweight mid-drive motor e-bikes. Comparisons are unavoidable.
I hope webcurl you would be among the first owners of the UBN!

They're nice, i would like to zip around the city on one but not enough carrying capability for me, i have a lot of baggage :)
The GPS chip doesn't work here in Oz and the only reason i've managed to keep my SuperCharger for almost 4 years now is to carry 2 decent locks & a motion sensing alarm, otherwise it would have been stolen years ago.
And i'm rather fond of my Jeep, it goes almost anywhere!
Wonder if Bosch is working on a worldwide tracking solution for the "Smart System"?

I could probably re-charge my e-bike every second or even third day!
I think this is my angle - I'm coming from a spoilt position of recharging my bike every 7-10days as a SC2 with 1000wh combined batteries.

Learning to recharge every day or other day is not hard (you'd want the plug to be a bit better than SC2 - magnetic like my Turbo Levo would be nice) but the reason I've got a Garmin Fenix 6 is for 7 day battery life, not a daily overnight charge required for an Apple Watch for example.

Very much 1st world problems I know, but it's cool to see there is even more choice coming into the bike world!

The UBN is intended to be a lightweight, low(er)-power, low-range city bike. Comparing it to the trekking models from R&M is apples and oranges.
You would be very surprised how long distances could be covered on a low-power, lightweight e-bike.
