Turbo X 2015 speed/range

I'm currently leasing a Stromer ST2, but can get a good deal on a Turbo X 2015 demo bike (2750 eur/3050 usd).
However, I'm wondering what kind of range I can get at full speed, and what speed that would be.

My commute is 40km (one way, 25 miles), and with the Stromer my top speed is mostly 45km/u (28mph). Battery is between 0% and 20 % when I arrive at work (depending on the weather).
I do like the range and the speed of the Stromer, but the bike looks and feels not very bike-like (and the price difference...).

I could live with a bit lower topspeed (40km/u, 25 mph), but want to keep the range. Optionally I could buy the bigger Turbo S battery, but the battery is rather expensive (1200 eur/1330 usd)
 
The 2015 Turbo X has the same battery and motor as my 2015/16 base Turbo. You could just make 25 miles at full assist, but there would be no reserve. My experience is that I can do 50+ miles at ECO40, 45 at ECO50, 35 at ECO60, and around 30+ at ECO70. The Turbo X has a 468Wh battery and 200W motor with a 42km/h cutoff. In rolling hills and flats, I find I can average around 18-20 mph at ECO70 and 20+ at full Turbo. I am 64 yrs old and weigh 235 lbs, so your mileage may vary.
 
My 2015 base Turbo gets 35-37 km on Turbo mode (full assist) from a full charge. This is undulating smooth roads and averaging about 30+ kmph and I weigh 68kgs with about 10 kg extra in my pack.

This morning I ran my Stromer battery empty before I arrived at work (suddenly the bike was very heavy and slow), this was mostly due to heavy winds. So I don't think I'll make it with the Turbo X at a regular base (unless I reduce my topspeed significantly).
I weight 95kgs (and hope to loose some by riding the bike to work).
I guess I have to see if I can find a cheaper option on the Turbo S battery (or buy a new Turbo S, but I don't know if I get enough range then).
Or opt for a Stromer with the bigger battery, decisions....:)
 
Dan, I intend to get the Turbo S battery for my base Turbo sometime late this summer. That would take my range out to 50 miles at ECO70. Full Turbo range would be closer to 40 miles.

Douglas, I'll read with great interest when you get your Turbo S battery for your base Turbo, please post price and if you get the bluetooth app working with it.
Btw what is the Turbo S battery capacity?
 
Dan, the Turbo S battery is 691Wh instead of the 468Wh of the base Turbo (2015 Turbo X) battery. By the way, today I rode my longest "all Turbo" ride yet. A total of 15.5 miles at full Turbo setting on my 2015/16 Turbo, averaged just under 22 mph on a mix of rolling and flat terrain on streets and rail trail. I had 46% battery left. I was "spinning", averaging a cadence of 87 rpm with a peak cadence of 110 rpm and speed of 32 mph. This suggests my range at full Turbo is around 25.8 miles. With the 691 Wh battery I should be able to get around 38.1 miles. If I ran the bike at ECO40/50 with the Turbo S battery, I should be able to get 75 mile range!
 
I am currently using the 691 Wh battery with my 2014 Turbo S (250W motor) on two different 2o mile commutes with 136kg load, 2/3 at 50% boost and 1/3 at full boost. On the worst case commute with more stops, traffic 1000 ft climbing, I usually finish with more than 30% battery remaining which is my target. The other commute has significantly fewer stops and slightly less climbing so I will usually have about 50% remaining. The Bluetooth app works with the new battery. The display always reads a little lower than the app by about 1-2%. I carry a travel charger and take the battery inside to recharge during the work day. The Bluetooth app will show 100% charged but when I put the battery in the bike it usually shows 98%. I don't worry about the difference.
 
Today I took my longest/fastest ride yet at high settings on my 2015/16 base Turbo. I rode 27 miles in all at an average of 20.9 mph. About 80% of the ride was full Turbo, the other 20% was at ECO70%. Total climb was just under 800 feet. I started at 100% of my 468Wh battery and ended at 16%, consuming 84% or 393W over the ride. If I had the 691Wh battery, I would have had around 43% left. By the way, this also suggests that I am consuming around 300W per hour of battery capacity. The base Turbo motor is rated at 200W (continuous) but at over 300W for 1-2 minute bursts. Based on my own riding capability over a similar course using the same Garmin 1000 monitoring equipment on my non-assisted bike, I would estimate that I was adding around an additional 100W/hour of my own energy over the course of the ride.
 
For future reference, if one upgraded to the 691 Wh battery, would it be possible to take a 2015 Turbo X and upgrade to a 250W,350W, or 500W motor and what would it cost?
