Turbo Levo Comp Alloy - Any immediate upgrades need to be made?

There are a few on US eBay, but Im not able to find info on US warrranty support if needed
I'm trying to explain Merida has an agreement with Specialized, preventing Merida distribution in the United States. Buying a Merida in the U.S. would not be a smart move...

I can't believe I'm saying this but don't forget about the Levo but I lean towards the Giant
Yeah, the Levos are the ones I compare the other options to; The Trek Rail 9.8 is in there too, but those seem very, jack of all trades vs great at one thing or another

@Gee_Whiz:
Now let me tell you something very perverse.
Buy a Levo and never look back.
In case somebody asks, your answer will be straightforward:
-- But that's a Levo.
Ever wondered why people were buying Macs and iPhones? :)

This might very well be the case lol! I like to do the research to make sure that every option is covered, otherwise following the crowd could lead to a more hollow option; but i do like the Levos; they seem the best at most things.. Torque, Geometry, handling, battery, electronics.. looks are solid.. Reliability is a question, but good warranty support!

This is true indeed and also a thought when it comes to cars!
Regarding the cars... It is true Mercedes-Benz cars are renowned. These remind me Riese & Muller e-bikes: the paint is flaking from the very beginning :D

A very old joke:
Two senior rich guys meet each other. One of them looks miserably. The other asks a question:
-- What's wrong with you?
-- My old lady makes my life an ordeal...
-- Buy her a Jaguar!

They meet each other after some time. The first guy looks even worse:
-- So, did you buy her a Jaguar?
-- No, I bought her a Skoda.
-- Told you!

After some time, the other guy meets our hero. He looks far younger, transplanted hair, sun-tan, a lot of young chicks around.
-- So, did you buy your wife a Jaguar?
-- Yes, I did!
-- And?
-- Jaguar ate her.

If you dig I think you'll find they have made some stuff for Specialized. By the way didn't Ford own Jag for a minute or two what the heck was that?

Nah... I could find no Specialized part in the Giant e-MTB. However, many parts are made in the factories in Taiwan, maybe in the same factories?

Other way around but you'd be surprised who's made things for other companies in almost if not all industries. What both companies might make some good stuff we can't have that😁 one has to be way better.

So something worth noting is that both can be ridden agressively but even if you don't there design is benificial and if you decide to step it up you can no need to change bikes.

Yeah thats the interesting thing about the Trance.. it seems to ride very.. Levo-ish from reviews.. despite having 29er wheels and a huge chainstay.. its kinda odd actually.

It took me a few days to research but I think I figured out what I was looking for in an eMTB:

Strong, Torquey Motor:
Bosch, Brose, SyncDrivePro

Good sized battery with option for extender:
All pretty much have this these days

Solid on the software front:
Specialized far and away the best, Giant seems ok, Trek 2022's seem pretty good

29/27.5 "Mullet" style setup for the wheels:
Very difficult to find this setup outside of the Levo's and Shimano motors

A bike thats good uphill and downhill:
Options Vary but primarily Levos, Rails and the Trance seems great uphill, and just ok downhill due to the weight

It seems that the best options are going to be:
Any Levo, wait for the 2022 Trek Rail's or go with a 2021 Rail, or the Trance and see how 29" wheels feel on my local trails

The issue with the Levos seem to be; On the Levo Alloy for example, by the time you upgrade the forks and rear shock, the price will be at that of a more expensive version but with a cheaper group set.. so the value doesnt seem to be there at that level vs the Trance or other options.. its interesting..

Buy a Levo and never look back! :D

Besides: What's happened to @sammcneill, a recent Levo owner in NZ?
