Hi,
My wife just bought a 2023 Serfas eDash plus bike. She feels like it is giving her too much assist. I'm interested in tuning to lower the amount of assist. I've found good online instructions for tuning the BBS01, etc. but I don't know what the motor model is on this bike. Serfas just lists it as a Bafang 500w 48v motor. It doesn't appear to have the round connector to the controller/display that you can buy the cable for but it does have a USB port.

Anyone have experience tuning these or have any info that would help? I'm new to e-bikes but am fairly experienced with bikes and computers.

Thanks!

You could reduce the rated power in the advanced settings menu. Or fiddle with the wheel size or number of poles on the speed sensor, and see what happens. Best if your wife isn't the initial test pilot.

I had previously gone into the advanced settings and changed the rated power and speed limit buts she reported no reduction in assist power. My assumption is that changing the speed limit puts a threshold in place that cuts off assist but doesn't affect it below that threshold. I could probably reduce it more- I think I reduced it to about 30k (19ish mph). It power gave options of 350 or 500 and didn't seem to change it. I probably should start riding it myself to test.
I'll take a look at the circumference and speed sensor settings, too.
Thanks!
