A $30 credit toward new pedals plus an additional $20 credit to use at Trek.I too am not using the original pedals on my Dual Sport Plus. Switched them out to a platform pedal with pegs, forgot the brand name. Got red to match some of the trim.
So what does the recall get you? A new set of pedals?
Thanks for the advice! I think I'll get those since they appear to fit what I'm looking for. They look grippy enough for me, and they don't have "shredders" poking through the pedal.LOOK is now in the flat pedal game. Got a set for my Allant 8s they are nice and you can get some crazy colors. https://www.lookcycle.com/us-en/products/pedals/mtb/trail-grip/trail-grip I got the crazy camo pattern.

Funny, although the recall announcement says to stop using the Bontrager Satellite City Pedals, my LBS told me that they don't know when the replacements will be arriving, but I could upgrade to the one or two other pedals (with pins that shred) that they have in the shop. I'll ask them on Tuesday if I could order pedals that are not in their inventory.
Check the website to be sure. I read new pedal plus $20Really? The email I got said a $26 credit that could be used at my local bike store - no cash value. Are they sending out different offers to different people?
I assume it's $26 USD (I'm Canadian) but I have no idea. It wasn't specified anywhere...
I have a sneaking suspicion the $26 is Canadian. That’s a little better than two dollars and some change than what we Americans get.Really? The email I got said a $26 credit that could be used at my local bike store - no cash value. Are they sending out different offers to different people?

You are understanding that they are offering you an alternative (no doubt for legal reasons) and that you could get hurt. What you do about it is up to you.Anyone know what the big deal is here? Pedals coming loose? Easy enough to tighten with a pedal wrench. Sure they "should" be torqued with a torque wrench, but how many folks do that? Besides, by design, they should tighten with use, not loosen.
What am I not understanding here?
Yes, of course I understand this. However, I also hear that many shops don't have any pedals. Am I supposed to park my bike in the meantime? And, no, I do not "understand...that you could get hurt" since I know (1) pedals and (2) bicycle maintenance. So I asked what the risk actually is. You apparently don't know, so instead you gave me a non-answer. Do you care to try again with something more informative? You are understanding that they are offering you an alternative (no doubt for legal reasons) and that you could get hurt. Take a look at post #2 above.i Have the same question what is the actual issue? I don’t ride my Trek ( make offer?) but put the pedals on another bike , what is unsafe about the pedal? , is it “if” or more “when” ? No letter or correspondence from anyone yet.
