Thoughts on Honda M8 ebike/scooter

Honda has an ebike, a scooter with crank arms and 20 mph limit.

Your thoughts when you see one of these pop up on the MUP.

But Honda has come back into the e-bike market with the M-8 which if you look closely, or check the spec's has crack arms and otherwise seems, to my understanding of the Class 2 E-Bike standards.

And that's my point, it's a shocker, at least to me than Honda will be making e-bikes. As noted Honda is big in scooters, the worlds biggest. So their presence in the e-bike space with a very "Honda" like entrant will have an impact if they are sold in the lower 48.

Yes, the current version of the Honda M 8 (and it is a Honda) has old lead acid batteries. However, the M 8 came to my attention in a show video which matched the M 8 with a new battery tech said to, while being heavy in weight and low in charge, had the saving feature of a 10 minute recharge. Thus my interest.

What's a MUP? My thought, it's a long long way from a bicycle. Must be horrible pedaling, but I doubt anyone does that.
